Thread: Does anyone know when/and what the new expansion will be? If not what you think should be in it?

The criminal underworld in SWG is known in the literature as "The Fringe", and after the GCW is sorted the devs need to pay serious attention to it. At the momentyou have smugglers who cannot actually smuggle anything, for example.And criminal factions that don't actually do anything but just sit there. These need to be a lot more dynamic and involved. But the GCW has to come first.
What could/should the next expansion be? I think everyone would like to seecapital ship battles for a start. If they could get them into theoriginal X-Wing there's no excuse not to do it now. You could have a strategic element, with high-facton ranking players teaming up andresponsible for running an ISD or a Mon Cal cruiser, coordinating fighter screens comprised of other playersdogfighting, just like the finale of RotJ. The core game could get the benefits too, with infantry engagements... AT-ATs, anyone? Who wouldn't want to re-live the opening scenes of ESB?
New planets are needed also, at least a few, though judging by what we already have I'm not holding my breath. I mean, Lok = Tatooine withweeds, Rori = Naboo with a lower gamma setting, Talus = Corellia. So if Hoth is introduced (and it really shouldn't be, unless they shift forward the timeline) it willprobably be Tatooine with white sand. Bespin would be nice, they could introduce some PvP gambling and Fringe trading/smuggling there,but apart from Cloud City it's a gas giant, so nothing much else to do. Coruscant would simply be unworkable because of lag issues (all those skyscrapers...and Coronet is bad enough). And Dagobah wouldn't work either; not much sense having everyone visiting when it's meant to be a galactic backwater.
Basically I'd like to see the Fringe elements of SWG fleshed out and given the treatment they deserve. And larger scale battles, in space and on the ground. But this is months, and maybe years, down the line. By which time SWG2 will already be Beta or something

ater the public outcry against jar jar binks, Gungans will NEVER be a playable species!
but on the next expansion, i dunno, the underworld things sounds good. hopefully that would expand on smugglers, but also give new content to non smugglers as well. wouldnt be fun to see everyone go smuggler. id like to see more in general kinds of things, more regular content like creatures, npcs, clothing, etc etc.

If they add a criminal underworld faction they should also add an opposing police force like faction. People could actually work for CorSec of RSF or Mos Eisley police to work against the criminal faction.

Bump timeline to right after the battle on Hoth in ESB.
Add in two planets (or more). Hoth and Bespin.
Hoth: It would be somewhat like Yavin, where there are remnants of Rebels and Imperials. Obviously the Imperials would have an established base and Rebels would probably still have hold outs in Echo Base. I envision it as more of a gigantic Rebel vs Imperial battle, with the occasional animal (Wampas and mountabled/tamable Tauntauns). It should be on the strength par of Endor or Yavin. But maybe even on the Dantooine level, so everyone could enjoy it. Obviously no houses or shops but maybe allow factional bases and you could fight for control like we currently are for Tat/Cor/Naboo.
Bespin: I see it as a half planet/half space. Seeing as Cloud City was fairly big, you could make a large city, but the only have Thugs and such in certain areas for fighting. Maybe make them extremely hard. Also Lando could have his own themepark (seeing as I would set it after the battle of Hoth but before they got to Bespin) Or perhaps set it after Lando and all the crew left Bespin and let Lobot be in charge of the themepark. As to the space side, you could set up a zone which you can only get to by launching from Cloud City, and you could just fly about the gas giants atmosphere. Basically a space zone with an orangy-pink background. And if it were after Lando left, could be Rebels and Imperials everywhere.
And as to content:
This is when rideable-combat vehicles should be introduced. You should be allowed to fire from any existing vehicle. The speeder bike should be given the ability to fire its little blaster. At-Sts should be made from Faction pets to factional combat vehicles. Obviously Rebels should be given some sort of little combat vehicle. Maybe the speeder from Battlegrounds. Obviously this is something we want and something the Devs have planned on from the beginning.

Fullblown Items expansion.
Combat Vehicles, Boats, Tanks, Small planes we can fly on ground...
Podracing, same as JTL pilot, 3 different "factions" (i guess) 0 SP cost, playermade races...
More items, more houses... I want a castle with a mout(?), when I set it to privacy the bridge goes up...

my idea is this: A water expansion
it could be many pronged, think of it this way, ill name some of the major details
New planet Mon Calamari
New playable Species: Gungan(hear me out please), Quarren, and Aqualish, these are all water based species
Boats for above water, Sub type craft for below water: many different types
ReDo some of Naboo and make a few underwater gungan cities, which is why gungan could be done
Redo Fishing
Could make some sort of SCUBA type equipment to do some underwater type hunting or something
that could be done by some sort of new proffesion, like under sea fight or something
New space area: Mon Cal, could have their shipyards too
My other idea for an expansion is a Corellian Expansion(not as well thougth out but still same amount of possibilities)
There is many other planets in the corellian system besides corellia, like Drall, Selonian, Duros(outer corellian system) talus is in the corellian system with its sister planet tralus which revovle around Centerpoint station
could add one, some, or all of these into the game
could add selonians, drall, and/or duros into the game
etc

Duros is not in the Corellian system.
The 5 planets of Corellia are Talus, Tralus, Corellia, Drahl, and Selonia. No others, although some others did show up in some of the old DnD-like RPGs (dont believe me goto the star wars databank on the offical site...).
But, Duros could be cool. And they could combine Neomoidians and Duro into one race, where one side of the slider is Duro and the other is Neomoidian. (once again check the official databank, Nemoidians are a genetic offshoot of Duros).
And Gungans, as much as we all HATE Jar Jar, could be cool. I would actually enjoy being a Gungan on a Kaadu with a lance (could add in Gungan electropole and their glowy orb weapons). Could be cool rp, rather be Gungan than Sullustan.
Mon Calamari could be a very cool planet, I wouldn't mind seeing water. Thus Quarrens would be a good playable race (and it would be cool that their native language is Mon Calamari so two species would have the same starting language!)
And IM sure ill post more a I get ideas

The devs have stated that Gun Gans will never be a playable race because they're never seen off of Naboo, except for Jar Jar. Same thing for Jawas. But I'd really like to see a third facton implemented, make it a three way free for all between rebels, imperials, a criminals. And with the new GCW changes, this would be great...
As for the planet, I'd really like Cloud City & Bespin, maybe Mon Calamari as well. Quarran wouldn't be a bad race...

I'm pretty sure that the time elapsed between ESB and RoTJ is more than a month. Luke spent quite a bit of time between furthering himself on the path to Jedi and making his new saber. In fact, I would say it would be 6 months minimum. That said though, I'd like them to just bump the timeline all the way up to post-RotJ, after Luke starts his Jedi Academy. At least then we can explain all the Jedi running around and get some of the ships people really want to see into the game.
