Thanks for the input guys, i think im going to go Corsec, so would it be possible to join this "Orbital Assault" as a freelance pilot and help in taking down the star destroyer or the rebels attacking??

Also, does getting faction points in space help you on the ground?

that's the only place you can spend em.... only problem is, if you are a freelancer of any squad, you cannot gain factions from your kills in DS even though you are overt. if you plan on farming faction, I'd suggest going the route of your ground faction.instead of freelancer. Other than that... Deep Space is still pvp enabled, and you have to pick a side when you enter. if you are neutral on the ground, you can pick imperial or rebel.

Also be aware ofa bug currently that happens once you declare and enter DS. Once you choose a faction to side with on that battlefield, the faction will stick to you in kessel and you will no longer be able to attack rebel and imperial in there... and the opposing faction will be aggressive to you. This seem's to only be tied to the chassis that you went into DS with, and will not effect you in a different chassis, or if you redeed/generate the affected chassis.

Nah, SA members are more than welcome to shoot at Rebel ships. I am fairly certain that the only restrictions on Freelancers come from the RSF profession. Smuggler's Alliance does force you to destroy the Imperial 'vette, but otherwise you pretty much do your own thing.

Sadly, it is rather lacking if you want to be a whaler on the moon.

yeah, I was dissappointed myself when I saw what the moon whaler's life was like... I soon warmed up to the pirate trade instead... now I pass moon whalers and just say "HAARR MATEY"

I've considered space piracy, but my Droid Engineer keeps telling me that he doesn't make robot parrots. How can you be a pirot without a roboparrot? I can't even get a robot puffin out of him!

True, and an MSE droid on your shoulder just doesn't have the same effect...

I started a new character on a different server. Hoping to make a Master Pilot and that's all. I was wondering when I get to the Tier 3 trainer in Jabba's throne room, how will I get in there? Will I have to do Jabba's theme park to get access to the throne room? I don't want to invest the time into this new character if I have to do the theme park. I was really hoping to play this character without gaining even 1 XP in any combat box.

There is a way to get landing permission and free reign straight to the trainer, but I don't remember the link to how that works. Try the FAQ at the top.
