What about missions? There are more stations and alike flying around - those should give us missions which difficulty level would depend on our piloting skills. Mission targets dont attack anyone who's not involved in the mission, so the newbies wouldn't get harmed.

Im also tired flying around in the same systems and I just love the space around tatooine and would really like to fight some hard Tier 5 enemies amidst the astroid belt there (with friends too). The current missions you get are a joke, way to easy and there *difficulty* is tied to specific systems. A good and fun mission is one which pushes you hard to the limit and ends with your ship beeing nearly destroyed. ,-) Some of the stormsquadron missions were like this.

You can always find an NPC ship willing and able to "challenge" your skills in Kessel or Deep Space. Use that hyper drive and let the noobs have some fun.
