they already did one database space fix everyone remembers the merchant fix, where if your not an active merchant profession you get NO! vendors. and the vendors have limits based on your skill lvl in merchant. so as things go forward and we get more content your going to see more people complaining but the only thing we can do for now is do as we have been and using wahts available.

From what I understandthe vendor "fix" was to reduce the number ofitems in the databaseso the DB server would not be overloaded. Although this did reduce the size of the database I really hoped they would have implemented a better solution such as improving the code of the database software or doing a hardware upgrade on the DB server. Reducing the number of items in the database is a cheap & quick solution but it is a very short term one as well.

I agree, we need to be able to keep more ships in our datapad. Right now I have a SoroSuub, Nova Cruiser and a B-Wing. I'd really like to get my X-Wing back upor possibly a Firespray (or both if I can). So I've got a sluggish bomber, a ship that needs a crew to operate, and a ship that can't do anything but fly around. I will not redeed my ships-- it's too much of a pain in the ass. I will not remove my SoroSuub either-- I've spent 100k+ on decorating my SoroSuub and I'm not about to lose all those credits.

It would be awsome to have two more slots for ships, or even one would make me happy. It's not that hard to do.
Either that, or make it so the SoroSuub doesn't count to your ship limit. I've heard many times there's a limit on ships because they're basically a container with each different component put into it. But the SoroSuub is not a container, all of its components are perminantly attatched to it. I see no reason why this ship should count towards our ship limit.
The Devs either need to up the ship limit or make the SoroSuub not count towards the limit. I'm surprised they still don't see that...

/agree

TheVendor "fix" was a band-aid for a problem that needs stiches. True, it was presented in the guise of givingthe merchant profession a little love, and it did, butbut did nothing to solve the problem.

Database fixes are a cop out also because of a simple gact that ships take up only 8-10 items for regular ships.

Now limiting MP ships is one thing because they hold storage (but also take a lot anyway)

They are already limiting MP ships storage by assigning a lot to a MP ship.

I think the best way to handle this issue (now that it has been discussed) is to make classification of ships. You should be limited to 2 starfighter, 1 MP ship and one Luxery Yatch (for vets). The big issue I have, is I want my Yatch, but also want a MP ship to go up with friends. But then I am only limited to one starfighter, and I like to play with two styles, fast and maneverable yet weak and slow and powerful. Right now, I can redeed the two starfighters and go back and forth at will, but it would be much better if the game just allowed us these 4 ships.

I started the thread to increase the 3 ship limit. I hoped that I would get a response from a dev or at least a correspondent by now. Nope, nothing. It was once one of the more popular threads in this forum. I hope at some point the devs do read this thread. They are well written and mature. I sincerely want to believe that this issue will be addressed at some point. I sometimes feel I am the last person playing SWG, primarily because of JTL. The rest of my guild is playing WoW. I feel sad sometimes, like the kid with the soccer ball on a baseball field. I just want to play my game and enjoy it.

I hope someone reads this.

With all the problems that currently exist in SWG, poor communication between the developers and the players would have to be the single worst offense. Even if this did stem from the SOE execs who are above the developement team putting a gag order on everyone, the end result is the same.
