Hoth... miles and miles of nothing, no monsters, no trees, nothing.

Sounds like fun.

Woompa cave anyone?

im sure the Devs could be creative and do somthing with Hoth

Exarch - Rebel Soldier, Jumped to Lightspeed too far, far far away into a new World, World of Warcraft, Recruited by the Alliance to fight a similar war in the realm of StormReaver along with the Outkasts of Sunrunner who also found themselves in the same situation. With little hope of return to their Rebel friends they have begun to start again, learning the ways of their new home, trading in their blasters for Axes, Swords and Magical powers. The fight will be difficult, but failiure is unknown to us, for we are the soldiers that struck fear into the Emporer himself and put his armies to shame....

Courscant is just not do-able. period. I would enjoy Mon Cal, Borleais, but most of all.....KASHYYYK!

First of all it's Coruscant.

Second, there really wouldn't be that much difference between Corsucant and Kashyyyk. Making Coruscant doable. Why? How much of a difference is there between loading lots of trees and lots of buildings? Either that makes Kashyyyk impossible or Coruscant possible.

So your basis for an entire planet is one cave?

Coruscant is VERY doable, depending on how its done. I've had this discussion a HUNDRED times on the old boards.

They can't even do normal looking cities on normal planets, let alone an entire planet that IS a city. Seriously, have you ever walked through "theed"?

If they do a 16 km x 16 km square of city then I agree with you. Plus it'd be all computer generated empty crap. If they focus on say 1 km x 1 km x 1 km of HAND-CRAFTED city, then the developers could use MANY tricks to reduce frame rate. Look at Taris on KOTOR. Same kind of ideas at play here. Its VERY DOABLE, it just takes creativity.

If they had decided to do loading zones with SWG, there's no doubt SWG would've looked/played much better. There'sno question as to wether or not they have a talented art team, they do, it's just that they're limited by the 'great' idea of a large nonezoned world.

WoW pulls it off because it's very simple, very little in the way ofpolygons, it'sjust thatthose polygons are put to good use, and the colors are very vibrant making for a very atmospheric enviroment. It managed to pull off it's art style very well. The idea of Star Wars just does not fit into a simple and low-polygon enviroment, but instead it should be detailed, high-poly and just 'look good'. I can't really put it into words too well.

I only use WoW as an example because it's the only MMO I've played that uses the same no loading zones idea.

I think Coruscant could definitely be do-able, to all the naysayers...it'd just have to be small in area...like smaller than...whatever the current smallest ones are (Lok and Rori?)...maybe just have the capital city, and have a certain boundary where there are no paths or ways to get around some buildings or something...it'd be quite interesting, but it'd have to be VERY imperial...like tons of stormtroopers that aggro on covert rebels if they dare to come...but then we'd have to have a rebel planet too...perhaps a huge arse station of some sort...
