No, its absurd. I pre-ordered as well and I will not have the game ON release day either.
EB was sitting on it if stock has already shipped to GameStop retail outlets.

Was my point yeah, they obviously had it already.. heh.. Status said "Will ship when received", which means it should have shipped days ago.. What difference does it make with an MMO though, can't play it until it's "turned on" anyway. They could have shipped it to yaa week ago.

Whats really funny no one will care in a week. unless they live over seas and or didnt get it shipped next day air.

Guess it doesn't matter anyhow.. If I don't get my pre-order till next week even, I got my goofy new x34 to play with until then, and there won't be anyone to grab ships from anyway. Won't take me but a few hours to outgrow the starter ship..
It all kinda works out..

I believe the cd carries essential files (art, etc) that cannot be downloaded.

I haven't confirmed it, but I would say no.
Also, the .tre file doesn't contain everything.
