Or at least make the Interceptors and A Wings equal in speed, with a little edge on the A Wing for potential fastest through equipment.

My A-Wing flys 1198 with the rewardengine and engine overload 3.. withboosters close to 1500... i am not sure how you see this guys but thats quite fast for my taste and i have absolut no problem catching any tier 5 figthers..

Don't confuse NPC ships with PC ships. The speed of an NPC ship is based on its tier, so a tier 5 Awing is much faster then any PC Awing (at least 99% of them) as a tier 5 Awing currently has a speed well over 120.

Yes, four beams *do* project from the Interceptor wing tips, but they only do the damage of a single weapon.


Graphics asids, the XWing has 3 weapons to the Interceptors 1 and has a lot more mass so it can support weapons, capacitors, and reactors that are much larger than you can fit in an Interceptor.


The Interceptor has a max mass of 50k. A good (but not very good or uber) weapon can easily eat up half that mass.


I now use an Advanced and at 65k mass, about 50k of it goes towards the weaps, capacitor, and engine. All the rest of the stuff in it is level 1 or 2 equip because space is so tight on the thing.

As I remember it in the original "X-Wing" game, shields do not appear on the TIE's until the Advanced TIE Fighter. TIE's, Bombers, and Interceptors were shieldless. The Imperial TIE's, like Japan during WWII, valued maneuverability over pilot safety. The added weight of shield generators was not deemed necessary until they started taking heavy losses against shielded Rebel pilots.


Aggressors and the like were not part of "X-Wing", so you can assume that they contain at least the same advances that the Advanced Fighter has.

Are you nuts? The Interceptor is smaller than an A-Wing. How can you justify it having more mass??

Either way, the A-Wing was faster, but the Interceptor is more manueverable.

That was possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard. You obviously know ZERO about Star Wars ships. You should apply for a job with SOE SWG DEV Team, they would probably hire you. Regaurdless the TIE Int has no life support, smaller engines, no hyperdrive, no missle/torp launcher, no shields - and you want it to have MORE mass? Hmmm /troutslap
