This is the result of the server syncing with the client. In effect, the server asks your computer where it's at, then says, "Whoa! You're not way up there/back there! Get back here!"
Several things come into play here. The major one being the dynamic memory allocation of your operating system. The coding of JTL seems to be having a bit of difficulty staying in sync with the individual computers. Since a cluster cannot vary it's timing on a per client basis, it takes all the timing and finds a happy medium, thus making it worse for some than others.
The devs are constantly building the code to make it complex enough to communicate in a more dynamic (rather than leaning towards static) way.
They really need to find a smoother way to make sync, cause when it happens it usually means an insta death fro me, using an A-wing my survivability depends on my fast moving, stoping in the middle of a fight, even for a few sec and i'm dead.
When that happens you don't even deccelerate, you instantly stop moving, making you a sitting duck for a few sec which is enough totransform my A-winginto afireball.
Warping a littlewhen the resync is doneis not really an issueas long as you keep moving at the same speed, that's the way it is done in other spacesim online games (like in Freelancer), i don't see why it can't be donein JTL.

Please fix this immediately! It is ruining the game for me and I'm sure it is ruining the game for others. I've uninstalled SP2, updated my video drivers, tried the alt-tab and end the SWG program thing, nothing works. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Good then!I thought it was just me. I've been still troubleshooting some computer problems, there's the possibility this problem was related to that, or the game just sucks.

Its just connection lag, coz with JTL installed I've noticed you do get a lot more game jitter than you used to.

when it was happening to me it was only when i was flying around.now its when 6 ships spawn and i cant even let off a burst cause the ship goes all over the place then when i come back all 6 have passed me and are already firing on me.

Guess again. Connection lag can't be removed by replacing a motherboard, however this is exactly what removed the problem for me.

I have no idea what the exact cause is, but it has to be something the game can fix. It would appear that JtL is using a timer or something that something else in our systems is using and setting to a different rate. This problem is one that I sawa while back that went away on it's own and has returned to stay (with a vengence, it would seem). Just a week ago, I was able to take on 6-8 tier 3 ships at a time and survive (just not able to kill them fast enough to complete my mission). Now, however, I can barely take out a stupid tier 1 freighter. All because of the problems related to the erratic flight of NPC ships and our own ships "dying" and regaining speed. I see no packet loss. My pings are typically 55-65. Yet, I can sometimes sit there and fire at a freight for 3 minutes solid and never see my cap drop 1 point, let alone make any damage with all the hits I should be making. I'm a 2/2/2/2 Imperial pilot. I would say it's obvious that I know how to fly/aim/shoot in space. I keep reading threads about this issue, hoping for a real fix. All I see are people saying they have the problem, others saying it's a hardware issue, and others still that say it's all pilot error. Why is it that the ground game runs perfectly fine if it's a hardware issue?
My system:
Athlon XP 3000+
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
eVGA e-GeForce 6800GT AGP
1GB PC3200 Corsair XMS
I would dare say I have the horsepower to run the game.

It is a BUG. Plain and simple. It has been around all throughout JTL beta and remains today. Systems with 2gigs P4's and 512 video have this problem. There is switch or setting that can be changed to correct it. It is a bug.
