perhaps its not a bug, but perhaps it is a little too powerful.

it possibly is a bug tho, so lets hear a devs response ?

it may be left in with damage reduced, seeing as you destroyed quite a few ships i would say its a little overpowered lol

I was sitting outside the naboo spacestation and wanted to see what epulse3 looked like.....

I fired it..... there were about 8-10 players around me at various distances, but none close enough to trigger the safety override.

The casualties were another YT-1300, a Yacht, about 3 or 4 TIE ships, and numerous other player ships all by the space station.

Hmmmm. never tried ep3. is it very effective on the vette? might be able to actually help ppl out with the vette seeing how imps got bstrike to call in friends, rebs got insane shields and the last time i tried pirate trap2 all that came were still tier1 idiots.

Epulse Level 3 not only drains your capacitor, it drains your shields as well.. Youll be a sitting duck unless you used it at the right time and place.

Epulse3 and iffscramble are probably the only viable skills the freelancer pilot has. Unless you count calling in 3-4 tier1 pirates to agro you a useful skill.

Epulse1 and 2 dont hurt players , but Epulse 3 does. Epulse1 is weak, Epulse 2 is moderatly powerful, mostly just takes shields to 50% and some armor on enemies in most cases. Epulse 3 can kill tier5 figthers if they are close enough, Epulse also agroes _everything_ in radius. Its a very risky skill to use, and with that comes extra power.

Seeing as privateers get no master fighter/bomber its probably the only thing in the master box that makes it easier for us to solo, dont get it nerfed please we are quite gimped as is. Notice the lack of skills/droid programs freelancers get, faction pilots get IFFscramble at tier1, we dont.

So far, and Ive flown with lots of freelancer pilots I dont know I have only encountered pulse3 once. Today in Kessel during a corvette raid, the pilot warned the group in groupchat but since we were all busy fighting the corvette we didnt notice and he blew up about 4 ships including my YT. It stinged when my ship just blew up like that but I still want pulse3 to be able to hurt friendles.

My suggestion is this: If you manage to kill a friendly player with Pulse 3 you create a chain reaction and get your own ship destroyed as well.

That way Pulse 3 will still be very risky to use and keep its power and be worthy as a master pilot special and damage the griefers as much as they try to damage others.

That would be a good workaround... i am for one all for making ep3 so it cant hurt players. but the idea in the post above this one is very workable

and as for droid programs lacking in nuteral... who cares just ask a reb or imp to give you theres. problem solved.

First: Just a quick comment on the first paragraph: Imperial pilots don't get IFF scramble at all, and all droid programs are tradable.

Now about Epulse 3. I don't think it should ever bepossible to kill another player with a command like this in neutral zones unless it's actually a "friendly". My solution would be to make epulse 3 able to hurt only members of your own group (in addition to your enemy targets, obviously), if this weakness of the command must stay. This way, the griefing should be minimal, but the command would still be a risky thing to use.

i totally agree with now theres a great thought. i am all for ep3 being very risky to use, makes it more interesting to use. but isolate it to group members only to prevent greifing of people minding there own buisness. Keep them ideas comming mabye something will get done lol

How far away do i have to be from a player to not kill them? I tried using it on an npc to test it out but everytime it said non-enemy near by or something.

so one could just sit in front of a station with a low level ship and just use this as a griefing tool. so i lose out on some level 1 things and reappear 100m away at the station i am camping. It's a bug. and an exploitable one. once more freelance pilots get master, this would be an excellent tool to grief someone you hate. and people thought pvp kessel was bad...

a solution would be that only group members would be damaged with this.

first /bump

Ok im a master nuteral piot and YES this is greifing. As good of an idea as it is to have it hurt friendlies it is being used ALL the time for greifing... on my server its common place for a master pilot fo fly into a pack of players sitting at the space station and ep3 and kill then, just for laughs. something needs done about this. as it is getting annoning and costing everyone major decay

SOE please respond to this issue
