Yep space FP for kills are better than the ground. Just keep an eye on your 6 for another overt and don't get too close to opposing faction stations.

While there are the same Tier 5 craft in Kessel there is an advantage to Deep Space: numbers. If the ISD and/or Rebel Starbase hasn't been destroyed in the last 1-2 hours you can expect to encounter a much greater number of Imperial and Rebel NPC targets in the sector. Gunboats and Decimators abound and since they travel in a straight line and don't deviate under you fire they can easily be taken out. In Kessel you find that you roam about engaging 1's and 2's... but there is a a lot of inactive time. FP and credit grinding in DS is quick and profitable with one particular added bonus: if you get destroyed there is no decay on your vessel and you are automatically repaired for free.

Which I believe is just as good is it not?

Well, at least as a freelance pilot I can get some credits and loot out there. I'm suprised that even the smuggler's alliance and RSF members can't declare (since they are imp/reb alligned).

Its a shame neutral pilots cant decide a side they wish to fight for while in space for pilots like me who work for the Hutt I couild truly be a mercenary I mean I can target imps and rebs alike dont see why I cant earn FP while I am doing it.
Course it is kinda wierd me being a Imp on the ground though but I just see it as I am currently on the Imp payroll ATM and my toon is not afraid to be double crossing the Empire.....on the quiet of course

To clarify the privateer issue (learned about it this week the hard way!):
CorSec is "truly" neutral. I'm not sure about Smuggler, and RSF is neutral/Imperial. (Meaning RSF can't damage Imperials -- not sure if you can try declaring opposite, but probably won't work.)
Any pilot can go to a space station and declare Overt with a compatible faction. For instance, I can go to the Dantooine Alliance Station II from the map, and become an Overt Rebel in space. Overt status resets when killed, or when landing. Once Overt, you are PvP. I recommend mapping the "target nearest enemy player" command to a joystick button, and hitting it every 5-10 seconds. As a benefit, when you are Overt, you receive FP -- roughly 50 on a Tier 5 starfighter.
Rebel and Imperial Overt pilots can then go to their respective space stations (not the ones you declare at) to jump to Kessel or Deep Space -- except for Privateers, who cannot go Overt to Deep Space. (Price we pay for reduced factional dangers, I suppose.)
Deep Space has a much higher density of ships, and deaths are "free" - free repairs. Kessel is more sparsely-populated, and you pay for repairs. Repairs can be required quickly and without warning; I have a reasonably well-equipped Krayt with a RE'd Level 8 reward shield, and the earliest warning I got about my first PvP duel was when my ship suddenly exploded -- no warning at all! (Kudos to the pilot who pulled that off, great aim!)

So what would happen if you declared and went say to Corellia and started killing opposing faction ships there? Would you get FP? How much?

You could declare and go to Coreilla. The FP from Tier 1 ships in Coreilla is very small... on the order of 1-5 FP per kill.

Hmm ok guess it wouldn't be worth it.
You can be overt and go to the more advanced space zones, such as endor. I had a crew of 3 in my decimator, we were overt and getting 10 fp each per kill. I'm assuming that this means the tier IV NPCs we were gunning down are worth at least 30 fp, well worth is to me.

Tier 5 fighters give 40 to 50 FPs I think, depending on type. Tier 5 gunboats give about 190 FPs per kill, iirc.

How is earning enough fora small base and 2 Large Tower Turrets in about6 hours in Deep Space?
My guildmate and I did 2 days ago.
FP rocks in Deep Space, don't forget to go overt first.
If you get blown up come right back there is no decay, however you do get wounds and BF.
If you do get blown up you will need to go back and redeclare normaly takes about 3 minutes.
Good job SOE on the latest improvements in Deep Space!

Ok, I havent seen any stupid questions on this thread yet, so here goes. .... How do you get to deep space if you are Imperial? Where is this station you must go to, and must you be master pilot, or can you go before master?
