Actually, the ability to be able to dock and control the turrets of large capital ships was one of the things that was origionally promisedto be part of Jump to Lightspeed (then only referred to as Expansion 1).


The devs, as a compromise,said that they would do this since they weren't going to allow players to actually control large capitol ships. The idea was to give players that might not be so good piloting fighters to still take part in defending or attacking a large ship.


The devs probably cut it out because of time constraints, but it would be nice if we could see it implemented eventually. This was promised way, way, wayback when they said that they would be adding new planets in the first expansion as well.

I know this is my post but I found one problem maybe some one can help me solve. If we are going to have 2 large ships in the same area of space moving at each other. They are either moving VERY slow to take all day to reach each other or are moving along a very goofy course. Can anyone come up with a way we could explain this. Or an idea to fix it.

Corvettes would be nice,working under the same must destroy all the components first rule and not the current MP ship = fighter strength rule so they arnt just another novelty.

If you want to talk about limits and whatnot heres a system:


Dynamic spawns of Capital ships duking it out where we can join in...maybe the ships have a set path to follow and hyper to system to system until they collide (mini-battle ensues) or get attacked by PCs (automatically sets attackers to overt, covert enemy PCs can turn overt by communicating with the ship)


Fleet Battlefields...scattered across the black instanced expanse of space, these are essentially like the kessel place, but a large number of "Battlefields" that have whole fleets duking it out...only a set amount (like 40 maybe) players are allowed in these rather large arenas at once (maybe half the size of a sector or a quarter)...but there will be quite a number of them.


This is how the ground game should work as well...

for the problem of the ships flying around the area for 24 hours, simply have them hyper it at the designated time, both ships could remain in seperate space sectors for the time being, then people can dock with them, do the missions such as scout the sector in which the enemy ship is in, that would be the scout missions talked about earlier, and for the time between the battle this could be a sort of theme park as stated before where you can help build the ship up reading for the assault

I belive that The Galactic Conquest Mod for Battlefield 1942 did it right. There are no Star Destroyers or Mon Cal Crusers, however there are corvettes, lancer frigats and so on.

This would be a wonderfull addition to JTL, it would revive intrest in space and add a but load of new content.


The only way to destroy thise crusers would be to board it useing Multi Person ships and then go thru a ground game Corvette fight to overload the reactor. Also in order to own one of thise ships you must be an Admial Rank (quest and FP required to get this high rank) 1 Million FP, 30 Million Prestige Points, 2 Million Resources (devided aumongs atleast 2 Shipwrights) and 10 Million credits.

devs dont want to add anything to jtl, it would be too hard for them

The DEVs will add more things into JTL.


After spending so much time coding a Space Flight sim they wont just let it flop and pay no attention to it.

They are even adding 30 more missions in an upcoming patch.


Give it time, Content will come Prestige points will do something eventualy.

Good Idea! Also what about Having the ability to battle a Impstar or rebvette and be able to board it and try to take it over? (Ground vette mission style)

You could get a bunch of PvP'ers together on a Nova or what ever,have em board the enemy ship when your fighters render it damaged.

I wouldn't say that. I admit it might be a while beforeJTL fully gets to were it needs to be. In my mean time we should refine what we want and make sure the DEV know it.

All this is awesome, i drool from the lips just thinking about how great this would be... but do the devs even notice these posts? Have they ever answered a petition that hundreds of people have /signed by implementing their suggestion?



Grand Admiral Thrawn was a genious in Strategy. He could turn impossible situations into easy wins. ***DEVS, read about his SCIMITAR CLASS ASSUALT BOMBER, this would be an AWESOME new fighter for the IMPERIAL NAVY***
