I've had JTL since launch, and I'm only at 1111 rebel pilot. At the pace the second row of skills is heading, it will probably take me forever to master. I can't imagining it taking even longer. And who cares if power gamers leave because they mastered their profession, they certainly don't represent most of the community anyhow.

AGREED. I am a 1/1/1/1 rebel pilot too and have barely made any headway into the profession. I also am grinding FS xp, and trying to earn most of my money/loot on the ground, so I dont dedicate all the time in the world to flying...not yet anyways. Not to mention i work 9-5 mon-fri. So i play MAYBE 4 hours a night (and sometimes, not at all...too tired after work sometimes...i know some of you understand and relate.)

The xp settings are just right. dont make the casual gamers suffer just because the power grinders are masters. they earned it if they sat there for hours on end with no sleep. So leave it be.

It does take only a few days to a weekto reach 3333 for an average pilot (judging from my guildies) but the hardjob and realfun starts there, the tier4 boxes take time and if your in a guild you spend around 50-70% of your time helping your buddies out on missions and the such.

I grinded to master in beta in about two weeks and that was alot of long nights, and im currently 3433 reb pilot on live, I personally wouldnt want to see an decrease in xp gain as you it would make the game just boring, its enough with the around 312 tier4 fighters you need to kill for one tier4 box. What is good about JTL I think is that everyone can take the time they want when advancing.

It might be a tangible thing to do for most of space, but overall I think it's balanced. If there is any decrease in xp gain, I think it should only affect regular space, and not Kessel.

actually adjusting the Xp would Not help anyone, I am like Most in that I only have a couple hours to play, between my 3month old and work, at my current rate I got 6 months til I even reach 4444, Those who have the Time to Invest in adchieving there master Pilot lvl in a couple days, would Just instead reach a couple days later, and those of use who Might reach it in 6months, would be pushed up to 9-12months. I say its fine at its current rate.

Why do I care if someone else is a Master in 2 days and it takes me 2 months? Are you having fun when YOU play? Thats all that should matter.

No, if anything I feel the EXP needs to be raised a bit. I haven't even been able to do many tier 2 missions because my Y-Wing doesn't last long against my enemy TIEs (they're too fast and they keep circling around me). I'm lucky if I get four or five TIEs down before they blow me away. I'll be lucky if I get one tier 2 skill box in a few weeks at this rate.

I for one am a 3333 freelance pilot and i am a casual gamer. I have spent more then my normal time playing as of late so i could get here and i say that for the casual gamer the xp is about right. the teir 4 boxes do take a long time, my roomate spent 8hrs in kessel to earn 700k xp so she could get her first teir 4 box. What i think you must remember is this is not like the ground game and that it is based off of skill, equipment, and adaptibility. Such as all my guildies and friends say im a really damn good pilot. I can solo (with same equipment) what they can not. so this would say my skill in space combat gives me an advantage in gaining xp quicker cuz i can fight harder guys. Also if you have money issues and can not buy or loot good items for your ship you will also find getting good xp difficult. Lastly i throw in the adaptibility cuz i have run across many targetting errors and joystick lag when fighting and its the ability to compensate for this that im talking about. Granted we shouldnt have to but alas we must. So for those of you that may not be the best twitch pilots or have uber money (i understand this one) then team up with strangers and guildies. I just helped my guild leader the other day get 3 teir 2 boxes and its the most fun i have had so far and i love flying. Oh and for anyone that is on Chalistra im Chaosgirl on live just give me a call and if im avalible ill see what i can do to help.

Later all

If you find it to easy to level to master pilot, go back and fight 3 billion teir 1 ships at 100 XP per kill. Thatshould slow you down enough to make your life enjoyable by your terms. I couldnt emagine having to kill more ships to get master because the xp is lower. Its allready mind numbingly insane that I have to kill the amount of ships I have to now, since most of them fly in large circles over and over again or simply try to joust you over and over again slowing your progress to a halt. Y-wings turn on a time and attempt to joust you every chance they get, now emagine 3 billion of these joust tournaments that last upward to 15 minutes simply because you cant hit the ship right unless your behind him. Knock yourself out, go fight teir 1 ships if you think it goes to fast and it bothers you that much.

Somehow im willing to bet your a master pilot and you want to slow everyone else down, just so you can feel more l33t.

that's what I'd call wisdom, I rarely look at the boxes, and can spend hours in my loveboat hanging out with buddies, making turns on piloting. just have fun, who cares about xp ? who cares about others having a master title ? I don't care even if one could take master/ace in 2 minutes I wouldn't care, just go and have fun cause that's what *games* are about.

I agree here, especially since I don't even bother to wear titles (of course, that has more to do with being maxed on AP, and I'm trying to do my part to make sure that those needing AP get it). Thus, having the Master/Ace Pilot title is meaningless, outside of a personal accomplishment. In the end, I find JTL alot of fun, and that's what counts to me.

Yeah when you get like 3 tier 4 A wings jousting you its no fun Takes 10 mins to kill 1 and i can usually take a beating even with my 1.5k front/back shielding. I dont want to have to kill 5k of these jousting a wings just to fill a lousy box!

Well, if we had to spend more time sitting in a parcel of space creating debris of spaceships, that might get dull kinda quick... as it is, I am curious about what to do once the pilot missions are complete... I mean, are there group tasks, like how some ground content requires a good team? It'd be a shame not to require flying a wing of fighters out on some story-missions. But, I'd rather get the skills out of the way so that I can get on with other things, rather than flying for hours and hours just so that I can go do something else.

Or something like that. ^_^

They only joust if you don't use your throttle and roll to get on their 4 or 8 o'clock and hold it there.
