How long have you been playing? Did you miss the Holocron craze? I don't think there can be much of an argument about Holocrons ruining the ground game.
FS as it is now didn't necessarily ruin it..... the whole Jedi-wannabe craze in general did.
I know this doesn't really help now... but I'll say it anyways. Jedi should NOT be in this game. if you wanna be a Jedi, go play KotOR or JA. Jedi should never have been implemented into this game... and if they had to be, it should have been in VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY limited numbers. Maybe like 4 for every server (2 dark and 2 light).
I've been in the game for a little over a year, so yeah, I remember holocrons. My first holocron said "chef". It was my last holocron.
But what you've done is repeated the assertation that jedi mania ruins the ground game. you don't back that statement up in the least. You've stated your attitude that jedi shouldn't be in the game, which has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand (we're not going to turn this into yet another "jedi ruined the game, no they didn't, yes they did" thread)
So again, I ask, how exactly has the ground game been destroyed? You don't like jedi, and that's fine. But how has the newer fs system impacted anything? If anything, it screws things up far, far less than hologrinding ever did. Please give a few examples.
Nah I'm just referring to the holocron thing (which I'm still pissed about). And yes... the holocron craze DID have negative effects on the ground game.
And I'm sure your proposal won't hurt JTL that much... it's just that I don't want to see the space game go to hell like that ground game did.
If the devs allow this (and I'm sure they will), they better keep a close eye on it.
So in other words, I guess you're right. I'm not really against it.... I just hate Jedi in SWG. In the part of the SW timeline the game is set, Jedi should not be running around openly. But... that's off topic.
A lot of us just have a lot of resentment toward the Jedi-wannabes because of the holocron craze.

I'm not gonna argue about holocrons screwing things up, because they DID. True crafters especially got the shaft.

Get over it.It's a Star Wars roleplaying game.If you can name me one computerized Star Wars roleplaying game that was commercially successful without players able to become jedi, please do.
Until then, realize that jedi are the main draw to Star Wars games, that they're going to be in the game regardless of how "inaccurate" it is because the jedi grind is what makes SOE money, and that without jedi, people would have nothing to strive for. Players would leave, killing the profit margin.In other words, jedi are one of the MAIN factors keeping this game economically viable and, therefore, in existance.
Because this game doesn't exist to appease what your little brain thinks Star Wars "should" be. It exists to make SOE and George Lucas money.
Accept that, or leave the game, get some friends together, and play the PnP Star Wars roleplaying game.
By the way, I think anyone who incessantly complains about jedi and how they'vedestroyed the game, but continues to keep forking over $15 a month, isn't very bright and should be shot just to protect the rest of the gene pool.

Given both of these points of views, it's understandable, then, that we would be hesitant to agree to anything jedi-related being implemented into JTL.
And, I'm sure the devs would be careful to not let all the whining win. "Why only do it partially, or half-way?? If you're going to allow force skills, or allow force skill conversion, why not allow it all???" I can hear it now.
FS Luck is going to be implemeted in the upcoming Loot Revamp. Others are requesting FS Vehicle Control. Conversion is on the table as well. The next request will be some kind of accuracy modifier.
I just hope it stops with FS Luck, and I can see conversion being viable as well. Hell, I've all but stopped my melee grind, and have nothing to convert since I was invited to JTL beta, so, I wouldn't mind it either, but where does it stop?
