Thread: Who's not afraid to admit that there upgrading their PC for JTL?
yeah i'm definetely getting a new motherboard and processor, more ram, and a new video card
i'm thinking 2+ ghz processor, gig ram, 256mb video card... that'd work pretty well
has anyone else heard about this new internet service thing they are testing in like Cincinnati? i think it's call BOP or broadband over power... it's broadband internet up to 3gbs that runs over standard powerlines with a special modem you plug into regular eletrical socket.. the great thing about it, is that unlike any cable/DSL this BOP or whatever has THE SAME upload rate as download... so it'd be SWEET for on-line games

yikes. Probably going to max out processor on the motherboard, rather than attempt a full upgrade. I'll have to talk the wife into letting me rebuild a more modern machine.

I need to upgrade anyway, but the driving force is JtL. I'm just waiting for BTX and PCI-Xpress to come to light first. No use buying equipment that you can't use in your next PC.

(and a not so great vid card) GeForce 4 mx 64mb
i'm going to upgrade my vid card to a GeForce 6800 Ultra 256mb, when it comes out.....hopefully (crosses fingers)
Lol.i'm definetly taking out student loans to buy a car so i can spend my money earned from work on computer upgrades for SWG and JTL

What do you mean by :works not that good" exactly? Your configurationis almost the exact same configuration I have, and my game runs great forat 1600x1200 resolution. I do turn shadows down a little (but not off completely), but otherwise I have all graphics settings at the max. The only thing I have that you don't is a striped RAID0 hard-drive configuration. But that only helps speed up my load times.
