i didn't think it was a vet reward.

i thought everyone who had an account at least 30 days prior the the release of JTL got the yacht.

I'm not flaming anyone, or saying CSRs do not know how to do their job but on the contrary.

So let me just reiterate the following:

At the time of introducing the yacht, which was about 7-8 months ago, the first 30 days you get for kinda free when you buy the boxed game, did NOT count toward the rewards (The only one at the time being the Sorosuub yacht).

I know because I got mine after 7 months playing the game and also because a CSR told me so! That was btw my very first ticket I created after playing for 6 months.

I cannot say for sure if this policy is changed in any way at the present time.

I can. I did a quick check on my new alt. She was at 42 days total yesterday. I purchased that account somewhere around the 21st of June.

I know, for a fact, that my first 30 days counted when I got my yacht, about a week after JTL came out. And I know, for a fact, that people have gotten contradictory answers aboutt he same problem from multiple CSRs implying that maybe not all of them know what they are doing.

And as for could we have done a better job than the Devs, I could point you to a cornacopia of ideas better than the ones Devs have implemented, even some ideas presented by the devs themselves. IF they hadn't been deleted. But since the Devs have catered to YOUR chosen profession at the expense of other professions, game immersion, the GCW, RP, PvP, and general customer satisfaction, I can understand how YOU think they've done a good job.
