Okay, maybe the version I have is too old to work. It is a DOS game, after all. Does anybody know if this version will work? I think the patch that is linked earlier in this thread applies to the version I'm linking here.

The patch you are referring to is used to upgrade the Windows 95/98 version of Tie Fighter and X-Wing, not the DOS version. The link in your post does indeed show the Windows 95/98 versions. As far as asking if the patch does work, like I stated in my earlier postit does indeed work as I have both Windows 95/98 versions ofTie Fighter and X-Wingloaded and working on my Windoes XP system.
