on any gunboat I always take the top gun first...then the engine from the top side of the ship, once this is done you can target bottom guns 2 and 3 from behind the ship, at this point it will be safe to dock with it. In kessel I always call a bomber or pirate strike, let them beat on it for a while and then target gun 3 which is the rear firing gun, and just shoot the heck ot of it with protons and disruptors and blasters...never lose my ship this way...oh yeah and after you kill the rear gun hit the shields...they fall easy with the right gun combo...

Attack the gunboats from teh bottom. Need to do a little twisting and turning to manuvere your self under the belly of the beast... as Gunboats in missions will roll and twist to get their guns on you.. use boosters and spd to get underneath and use whatever piloting skills you have to stay under... quite a challenge but can be done.

Target engines or reactor, overload or E weapons your shots. Once it's disabled you can just sit underneath it and fire away while sipping tea.

Imperial Ye-4s have two gun turretsat the bottom as well, so this strategy won't work on them.

Those are the 2 turrets on the very front of the square section. Stay behind and exit about 180+ degress down, but dont get too close. Those 2 will not hit ya much. They do have a lower arc they can fire to.

If you want to check one out up close hit Dathomir (emps hand) between the deep space station and Dathomir station there is usually a corsec T4 GB you can get real close and personal with to see all the guns and locations

Gun boats for me

Single go for weapon #2 first, stay behind exit 180 degress below with booster. After #2 is down, stay rear and do engines then all remaining systems.

Multiple, take the one in back, engine first, then weapon #2 then the rest. rinse repeat.

Plan on taking many passes, turn before your front shields are down, plan you escape route, know where the bottom in (shorter fin). Take your time and know that it is a bit of cat and mouse to get set up.

800+ M is a safe distance to get back and get recharged for next pass

I know those in Dathomiras I spent my entire Tier 3 and 4 there. Those none mission critcials can be killed easily from afar (540m+), so you don't need to get underneath it. I managed to check outthe gun locations of a Ye-4 during one of my Tier 4 missions by flying really close andunder its belly (with help of bstrike which got its attention completely), but it becameverydifficultto maintain course withit onceI started shootingsince it's constantly chaning speed and rolling. So for mission critical ones, I prefer strafing runs which I think is more effective and easier than trying to get below it.

Same thing I am recomending more or less.

I was offering that Tier 4 spawn as one that people could go look at, non-agro, to get a better idea of gun placement, not to kill it.

I was just recomending that the exit path be toward the bottom of the ship (on the straifing run) rather then somewhere else.
