As far as I know, only SA pilots get the option. It's possible that other Neutrals might also, but doubtful. The patch notes were pretty specific.

I had done Jabba's before JTL and it gives me the option to land there. Never landed there tho.. I do have the option.

The theme parks were kind of redone at one point and all of those that did it once was given the option to do it again if they wanted. If you completed the themepark before they were "fixed", then you may have to redo them in order to open the landing point. This is just a theory by the way. Your friend may have completed the quest after they were reworked.

I have been told that it has to do with if you did the Jabba Themepark.

Not sure if this helps, but I am a Tier 1 Imperial Pilot and just started playing JTL last week. I did in fact complete Jabba's Theme park awhile ago. Don't know why you can't land there? Maybe it has something to do with your Faction standing with Jabba?

Actualy, i was totally unaware that not everyone was able to land at the palace. I am an Imp tier 4 pilot and
have the option of landing there, but just assumed everyone could.

Well, I am an Imperial Pilot (now).
I started Neutral to get the Bandolier ... then went Rebel Ace (did the missions to land at Dantooine), then went Imperial and did the missions to land on Naboo (Emperor's Retreat) and found out that I could land at Jabba's.
I did the Themeparka loooong time ago, but never (to my knowledge) did the Tatooine missions.
I personally think any Smuggler should be able to land anywhere.

yeah, ok, but what would you DO there after you're done with the theme park and tier 3 SA?
I've landed there for the novelty of landing someplace other than a starport but I think it would be really nice if there was an ongoing reason to land there.

Is this friend of yours a smuggler? I've talked to a few other people in game that can somehow land there without doing missions, and I seem to recall that they were all smugglers (the profession, not the Smuggler's Alliance squadron).
