Thread: Dunelizard love

I'm a Master Pilot and I rarely fly anything else these days. I am currently using my 92 spd gift engine and have havetwo 2500+ max damage blasters on that bad boy. I cruise at 1138 with engine overload 3 and it seems like I can handle anything short of a Corvette. The Dunelizard rocks
1138?! Is that it??

From the Shipwright Forum:
(Tier 1) Dunelizard: 15k Resources ~85k mass [SP: 2 Guns] 1 missile[Spdx 0.95 Acc 30 Dec 30 Pitch 300 Yaw 300 Roll 150]
(Tier 3) Ixiyen: 65k Resources ~95k mass [SP: 2 Guns] 1 missile[Spdx 0.95 Acc 25 Dec 30 Pitch 200 Yaw 200 Roll 100]
The Ixiyen has worse acceleration, and worse YPR than the Dunelizard, and its not worth giving up that for an extra 10k mass, IMO.
After having to complete Storm Squadron tier 4 with a 64k mass TIE Advanced, I dont think Ill be ditching my Dunelizard anytime soon, its a really nice little ship, with the right engine you can put out flight performance almost on a par with a TIE Advanced, and you get an extra 20k mass to play with.
I want to own one of the new Krayts, but I forsee me using the Dunelizard all the way from here(currently 1211) all the way to Master.
That may be the stats listed on the forums, but that has not been my personal experience. Like I said, the Dune I have may be bugged then, but my Ix performs a HE!! of a lot better than the Dune EVER did, with the same components and droid commands.
Argue numbers all you want, but I know my personal experiences. I'll just list the debate as to be considered, and get a new Dune made to compare to.

At first I thought the same about my Ixy....but I have since seen the light. The Ixy has been redeeded and it looks like it is going to stay that way. In fact when I was testing my new engine last night against some tier 5 Black Sun craft, I handled them rather easily...having to slow down in many cases so I didn't get them on my six. If I was in the Ixy I bet I would have gotten to the space station much quicker in much worse shape

I would venture to say that you have a bugged dunelizard. Get another one with the new mass (as you should anyway) and see if there isn't a difference.
I put the above engine into an Ixiyen, and, while it performed very nicely, not near as well as the Dunelizard with the same engine, same droid interface and commands, same reactor.
That's my personal experience, and I've heard more positive experiences than negative. That's why I say try a better chassis.
It could be that a poorly made chassis has worse PYR modifiers, but I can neither confirm nor deny that hypothesis, not do I want to insinuate that you have a poorly made chassis. ![]()

Not worried about insinuations mate.
We have a NEW Shipwright now that made this Ix for me, and I should have a Rihk when I get home from work tonight to play with also. I'm loathe to ask him to make a Dune since he just made these ships at no charge, but I'll see what I can do to get a new Dune made to play around in.
I suspect I'll still use my Ix though, because I have no troubles taking on Tier 5's in Kessel in it, except for TIE Oppressors, and really B-Wings are better XP anyway. And I find the Ix more aesthetically pleasing. The extended nose versions just LOOK like a ship to me. The Dune Lizards look like someone took a Speeder, hacked it up and stuck an A-Wing engine on the bottom of it.
Oddly, I like the Scyk (Style 2) and the Kimos, it's just the Dunes that I don't like the appearance of.

Not worried about insinuations mate. The guy that made the chassis was flaky at best and has since removed himself from our guild due to his flakiness. (Had he not removed himself, I'm sure one of us on the council would have removed him pretty soon anyway.)

Honestly, the Ixiyen is a great PvE machine. The Dunelizard would be much more useful in PvP combat.
My thing is PVE. Some people don't see PVE as fun, and that's their call. I'm of the camp that doesn't see PVP as fun though, and that's my call. Maybe that's why I like my Ix better.
Incindentally, my Dune only had about 68K Mass, and that may have been one of the reasons why I like the Ix soooo much better with it's 96K Mass. I'm running 95K on it right now and want to upgrade to better armor, hence the Rihx that I'm hoping will be waiting for me when I get home, lol.

And that may be a factor. See, I don't care about PVP. I'm not a PVP person. If I was, I'd have gone to one of the two factioned pilotting Trees and also gone faction on the ground.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with that Rihk. The handling won't be near as bad as what most people make of it.
I think that the amount of massmight be the reason for you liking the Ixy more. The mass on my Dunelizard is at 86k (post mass increase patch) which means you can add more fun stuff like bigger blasters and shields. I would have kept that Rhxxyxxyxxyxxkkk if it wasn't for that 3 ship maximum and the Firespray
