I've been playing SWG for about a year now, and so i remember what coro was like before JTL came out. Coronet and Theed were the most populated cities on the most populated planets, just like it should be, but ever since JTL has come out, anybody with a ship can fly straight from one planet to any other. Now I've noticed that the Mining and Agro outposts on Dantooine, which used to be sparsley populated, are now the centers of activity for most of the players on many of the SWG servers. I go to coro and naboo for my BH missions, and i cant help but wonder why nobody except other novice bounty hunters use those planets (i understand many guilds still have cities on these planets, but I've seen most of their populations drop) and the coro starport, one of the former places to find anything for anyone, is now completely deserted except for the occaisional afk macro spammer. I believe JTL has made space travel too convienient (along with 60 second wait times for shuttles) and I would like to see hyperspace travel restricted to lanes used by the shuttles pre-JTL, and hope that shuttle times will be increased to how they were before the overly-convenient publish updates.Message Edited by Remsus on 07-02-2005 03:32 PM
Not to quash your ideas or anything, but you are speaking only from your perspective.
On my server, Coronet and Theed are still quite busy. Players have also spread out, so as a previous poster has pointed out, I find players in virtually any city I go to - even player cities. So in that respect, I see JTL as a good thing - it has allowed players to go places in little time, making it easier for them to spread out.
There shouldn't be any time-sinks in SWG for the sake of "continuity" or "too convenient". Your perception of how valuable your play time is is probably different from how important I view my own play time. Also, until player Jedi are removed from SWG, then I really can't see any arguement for a change based on continuity being a valid one. SWG is not a game about continuity, hehe.
