Victory-class ISD's can operate in the atmosphere, so if they were in low orbit/high atmosphere we could probably see them like we do.

The only problem is ISD's aren't large enough to be seen the way they are from the surface. The only Star Destroyer noted to be visible (as written in Vehicles and Vessels) is the Eclipse Class Super Star Destroyer. An ISD in orbit would be more like a star than anything else.
Okay, I can see the space shuttle and ISSfrom the ground with my telescope, although they are small. I am sure I would be able to see something as large as a ISD in orbit. Maybe not as clear as they appear but still see them.

Too bad they aren't anything useful lol. When they announced Bestine's revamp, all the imps were hoping for more than a small imperial base above bestine and a couple of star destroyers that don't do anything lol.

Never seen them land either, but I have seen a couple crackdown squads in the open field with a AT-ST with them.
But usually its just a group of 8 to 15 troopers kinda milling about going from one point to another about 100m away.
Always a good laugh to grab something big, like a Krayt or Fambaa and train it on them, is a good fireworks display

I've seen the star destroyers high in the southern sky since the....crackdown? I've heard of 2 instances where a troop shuttle lands disgorging troops. As for overkill, I seem to recall a certain planet that is just rocks now.

I have seen a few over naboo but the best time was when we were gearing up to raid a base and I went up a hill and I could see 3 Star Destroyers and one of them was really close. It was cool to see a Star Destroyer up close like that when we were raiding.

There's one Imperial Star Destroyer (ISD) in Deep Space. You can reach the area once you're an Ace Pilot. Or, you can have an Ace take you there in a multi-passanger ship.
When you destroy it, you don't get money. You get experience and (if you're a declared rebel) you also get factino points. Regardless of the reward, it's a lot of fun to tangle with.
See you top side!

I get credits when I destroy it? Usually in excess of 1k.
Freedom Station used to give me a bunch of low end loot and a lot less credits. Of course, I can't even shoot at it now...
