If your a 2/1/1/1 reb pilot, that meant you couldn't wait to get a Y Wing LongProbe, but you don't have the skills to equip it properly. You should have picked 1/2/1/1 first. You can't compete, the best armor you could possibly get wont help you and your guns don't have enough power.
You need to be a min of 2/2/1/1 now, so you have Ship Equipment Certification 4 and 5. For your Y LP, your reactor should be 12000+, your shields over 1600+, your weps1600 dmg...your gonna need a capacitor overload, (I don't have one yet) so you end up waiting forever for the guns to recharge chasing Imps. I recommend keep looting Tier 1's and 2's for better equipment. Then get your friends to help you finish your Tier 2 missions.
When you finally get 2/2/2/2, I strongly recommend the next skill you learn is Equipment C Advance before you jump into getting an X wing. You can outfit your ships with Level 6 and 7 cert parts.

I always try to arrange to meet someone at the hyperpoint where they enter the system for their mission. I also get them to put me on their list for the duration of the mission and I put them on. Lastly, I learned a long time ago to laugh at stuff like this, because getting mad accomplishes absolutely zero.
you have to remember thati was going to meet him on the ground before that stupid imperial ship blew me up
There's a specific reason I said hyperpoint. Going to meet them on the ground unless you "travel" can be dangerous as you discovered. Systems like Dathomir and Endor are not kind to the young Rebel on the go. Best gear for yout level or not, tier4s chew most ships of lower level up, especially en masse. One last hint, IFFscramble and boost is your best friend. Especially when you're trying to go somewhere and you're on the clock.

If you really want to know what pissed off is...try doing your 3rd Tier 3 mission and have just the last part to do (an escort), your heading for the waypoint rendezvous (you've been on this mission for over an hour and your fingers are hurting) you see the freighter your supposed to escort. They say hi we've been waiting for you and then.......
you crash to desktop....
....you got to start all over again....that's pissed off...

1. There is a danger level for zones in your hyperjump window. If it says somehting like High (imp) and you are a low level Red, guess what? You could find yourself in trouble in that zone.
2. Just like on the ground not all areas are safe for all levels of players.
3. Using travel is a much safer way to meet up with on the ground.
4. Tiers don't progress in slight increases. There is a large difference between tier 3 and tier 4 ships.
5. Not all ships even in the same tier are equal in strength. Hutts and Droid ships are an example.
What it comes down to is you have no one to be mad at, except yourself for flying blind into a situation.

yeah, never get the ship cert skills first
i never used all the mass on my ship until i got 3322 Imp, and the Interceptor just can't hold anything worth a damn. and there is NO way i'm getting the lvl4 ship certs first!!! Why? because my bomber has 189k mass! and i think the biggest tier4 imp ship is like 70k or 80k
screw that! that will be the LAST skill i get

One time I did a T4 mission in someone else's Nova. The mission was a breeze.
