I think its a contest between Valcyn and Starsider. Starsider has more PVP, as far as I know, but Valcyn has more active, organized pilots. Well, the Rebels are organized at least 
And besides, you can have 1 character on each server anyway, no need to kill off your Ahazi one.
I spend pretty much all my time crafting or flying. Don't do much as far as ground combat goes. Am a master rifleman, but that's only to keep me alive long enough to get to my harvesters, and lend a hand when someone needs it.
Introduce yourself as a shiny new Pilot on the Valcyn forums, and you'll probably get flooded with advice and help There's also the pilot chat channel which is pretty active most of the time.

Right click the top of the chat bar, or one of the tabs and hit Join Chat Channel. Valcyn --> Galaxy --> Pilots
I'm strictly neutral. Much more money to be made staying out of the war
