The krayt is an awesume ship....u can solo anything in space pve with it such as vettes, gunboats, star destoryers so on.....only thing that is hard to do with it is pvp when some one is using a jsf witch most do so everything in space is cake with this ship except for pvp......now u will need to outfit it with some parts to make it be able to do all of this but this ship can do handle it all.......i've personaly have spent about 3 mil in creds outfitting my krayt but some people spend up words of 20 mil outfitting theres idk how but i know of two people on my server who say they have spent that much out fitting there krayts...

It´s definatly the best Neutral PvE-Ship. But it sucks in PvP because it is just a far to big target and threfore too easy to down.

But for grinding yourself or a friend (gunner) it is perfect. Also for soloíng ISD/Corvette it´s nice

The best Ship ingame atm IMHO is JSF/B-22 for the small size and Advanced X-Wing (which imho is the abnsolutely best ship ingame atm! 3 Weps, 180k mass and small enough to out manouver even a JSF (With a decent engine that is).

It's the best PvE ship because of the extra firepower potential granted by the extra mass. You can ignore jimbrown's logic when it comes to engines, maneuvering, and the difference between the two. Even though his heart's in the right place, he's wrong. He didn't know he was wrong, but he's never seen my Advanced X, so it's ok. The Krayt won't handle as well as the X, but in PvE that's rarely an issue. It's smooth and accurate enough for any PvE target, the key is firepower.

PS- just because you've never seen an A-X out turn a JSF, doesn't mean it doesn't happen, a lot.

oh well, that was my opinion, and i think im entitled to it... meh

the reason i said it like that was because i was never able to fit my big engine, and my big reactor on my adv x-wing and still have all my best guns... i can do that on a Krayt

but if you have the lower-mass stuff u need, then i suppose you'd be ok

Its the Sweetest PvE Ship in game. Turns nice, hardy, looks good (paint and texturable),with a good engine gets about 1100 without boosters. Perfect as Trainer with a New Pilot in the turret.3 gun/1 Missileslotforward, Turret covers full Top Hemisphere (The Person i often take as Gunner scores her own kills with it). It has Space. Mine about 210.

Get One and Love it...

Can't wait to FINALLY get to master..finishing up tier 4, just trying to get the corvette thing together..think it's possible to do in a rihkxyrk alone, if getting a group is a hassle? Anyways. I think i'm gonna love that thing, from what's said here. A friend of mine is wondering about the B-wing..so probaly gonna ask about that sometime.

PvP..hmm..tempted to be a masochist and make that sucker good in PvP..hehe..hey, with the right tactics and practice, could happen. Be devestating if it's pulled off.

lol

if u are planning on killing gunboats the b-wing is a decent choice. i say decent because it lacks the manueverability to get out of a dancers way fast enough. Krayts would still be my No1 choice.

and um... to the guy with his at 1100 speed... mine cruises at 1550 or somewher thereabouts, 1820's after boost (bad booster, dont wanna waste mass )with a Mark V player made engine, 118 top speed, and im running Engine Overload 4. i really do love it

Woohoo! Just made master last night. The Krayt is as nice as you all say..only issue with it is..even with 210k mass and up, it's hard as heck to fit stuff in as far as high level components go..that's quite a jump from stuff weighing like 14k or so to 30k and up. Anyone else have that problem? Any tips onhooking that sucker up?

Don't put high level everything in. Learn the difference between high level and good stats.

there are alot of low level components that you can use and be just fine. for instance, Droid Interface. my current DI is player made, 1k mass and 16.6 speed. Booster is somethin that i always use player made, just a mark 1, 800 mass.

another mass saving strategy of mine... go w/o armor. i havnt used armor since the last time i flew my YT-1300 (long while ago lol) cuz i find that its just a waste of mass. of course, if your shields get quite low often you might wanna find some better shields b4 dropping the armor.

you can get away with a mark 1 reactor as well, as long as you run reactor overload 4 b4 u run any other droid commands.

Running tier 4 Programs like overload can eat away your components, i use Shielddump 3 and Capacitor Overload 3 and fine.

And for Components, either use Playermade stuff or Collect stuff for REengineering Projects.

On Loadout:

I use 2 Lev9Blasters linked forward (in the Chin and Overhead mounts), and a Lev7 Gun in either the Turret (with Gunner) or the Wingtips (if Solo), or Exchange the Lev7 for a Class 3 Mining Laser in Wingtips, all with Quickfire-Option.

Also i can recommend a Playermade Lev9 Engine, mine gets the Krayt to 1083 Speed, even without boosters, with simple Tier 2 Boosters getting her to about 1400 Speed, but i use the Boosters mostly to shear a few seconds off Travel time.. not really needed, but not a big Space-Eater.

Or Reactor: Just use one that fits yer requitements. my Baby needs about 14,5K Energy, so a lower Lev is fine.

Armour. Playermade Mark3, Just for the emergency, A.K.A, Gunboatsturning Ugly, a Lev9 Shield is what you want.

Droid Interfaces Playermade with 16 Speed, is fine i use them only for Capacitor-Shield Dumps, and Capacitor Overload right after Launch.Shield Dump 3 leaves you 1/4th of the Capacitor Energy to fire on.

Capacitor. Mine is a Playemade with 933 Energy, but with Overload 3 its sufficient for all 3 guns, if you dont hose for minutes, whilst your gunner fires too.

Its a bit of Mix & Match.. but if you think yout 210 Space is low.. think about those Tiefighter guys whose Interceptors have 50 Mass...

im pretty sure that if you repair before you land then no permanent damage is done. i checked the max hit points of my stuff before i repaired it once... and it was completely repaired up to the same max hit points. thus, i see no problem with running overloads.

can anyone else confirm this?

Programs that do less than 10 pts of damage dont cause decay. Programs that do more, will, if you repair them normally. L4 overloads do more than 10 pts. Jumping into deep space as an Ace is the comman way people avoid this.

Also, Shieldshunt 4 takes ALL you capacitor energy, making you unable to fire for a short time.

I Personally found that Cap Overload 3 Is enough for 3 Guns to power onmore than short bursts, so its enough.
