Ok...I hope no one that was bitching at me reads this. I suggested that, and got toasted.
I like the idea. If you don't want to PvP, you use a neutral craft. Only issue is that if, as you say, the Z-95 is a Rebel/Neutral craft, does that mean you won't be covert of you go up in it as a Rebel? You're saying that the "neutral" craft are effectively covert, regardless of your faction...well, what if you're faction is Rebel, and you go up in a "neutral" Z-95? Is there some sort of setting? Are there two types of Z-95 - the "Rebel" Z-95 and the "Neutral" Z-95? It'd make that a little awkward, IMO.
Also, a psudo-idea/question. If I am neutral on the ground, but I take Imperial Pilot in space...can I still attack Imperial NPCs? What if I'm a pirate, and am preying on innocent civilians? Does flying a TIE Fighter protect my hairy ass?

I don't think tefs will even exsist. I mean, it is a twitch game so chances are that you can attack anyone and anything you want and then NPCs will attacking whatever they dislike. For instance, imps would attack rebs on sight and might attack a neutral ship if they get bored. They might incorporate a percent chance of imps attacking a neutral ship whether you shoot first or not. Remember that imps are known for they're ruthlessness. On the other hand, I doubt that rebs will be attack neutral ships all that much since they see no threat from them.

Having no TEFs in space really changes the faction PvE game. For instance, if you're attacking Imperials in a YT-1300, after they're all destroyedyou won't be aggro towards other Imperials, unless you have high negative faction.
Heck, people could just fly their non faction ships blasting anything and everything they see, Rebel, Imperial and other. It's an interesting change from the ground game where you can't attack a faction unless you're a member of the opposing faction.

I would think if you are a Rebel in a rebel ship, shooting Imps if an NPC sees you, you are dead. It would just not work like that vs PCs. Also, if you are just ina reb ship not shootings NPCs, NPC Imps would probably attack on sight. Kind of like a perma-TEF vs NPCs that won't effect you vs PCs.
At least that is what would make sense.

I was loading up onto galaxies when I thought to myself: "Hmm, Is this XP 'Nerf' foreshadowing Master/Apprentice Relationships?" Think about it... The devs make it so that a non-full group is great for getting XP now, so wouldn't it be IDEAL to have a 2-person group, Full-Temp Paddy/Beginner Paddy, helping each other get XP, the full-temp paddy teaching the lower-level paddy skills as they go along? But then theres the fact that the Full-Temp Paddies don't benefit from grinding with their "Apprentices" so the devs implement the Master/Apprentice system to give them maybe some form of XP to move up in Jedi Rank (Paddy/Knight/Guardian/Master)? This leads us to the FRS which could be coming a few publishes after they impliment that, which ties all of this together, giving FRS XP for helping a padawan with his grinding? Just a thought, but I dunno, seems a pretty viable thought to me....

You forget that the xp nerf hurts everyone. Not everything is jedi oriented. And real people are leaving.... check the pub 22 discussion thread. Its a sad day.
