1. Read the revamp thread.
1a. They haven't told us yet. "Awhile" is about all we got. Expect more than 2 months.

2. Camp kits are being moved to Scout, all of them. So no, they won't "convert" into anything.

3. We do not know, since we now have "wilderness" and "urban" camoflague instead.

4. Our new "traps" aren't thrown, so it's harder to justify trapping to some people. It's mostly an opinionated piece of information at this point. The fact that you even mention carbines alongside it is probably more annoying to some. Heh, we all support more trees of Scout being used, but that other little pink elephant just isn't getting along with the revamp goers too well.

and yah carbines doesn't bother me because i'm a carbineer, and i figured asking why carbines would go along with the other 10 threads about it so i left it alone... i guess trapping doesn't really fit either... i still say trapping 4and ranged support 4 OR unarmed 4... let us choose that way everyone is happy

Well its all about the numbers still. If I want to take up pistoleer with my ranger as a for instance, under carbines/exploration Id have to spend an additional 28 points on prerequisites, for RS and pistols 4. If the prereq was RS4 and trapping4 then Id only have to spend one line, or only 14 points. The same is true of carbines, rifles, BH, and SL. Adding Combat medic or commando would only be 29 points instead of 43 points. Its the small numbers that add up over time and limit us the most. Granted the melee'ers dont benefit too well but at this point it doesn't appear we'll get our two lines of scout which would be most beneficial to everyone. As to the question of why trapping as our scout line, its because its a basic foundation, teaching the elementals of trap construction and theory.
