Hey look another /duel exploit thread!
Didn't think one would be posted this hour...

I think the BH community (mostly) hascome toagree on the fact that if you're actually close enough to a Jedi to have them use this on you, your first strike ability has already been lost - the added confirmation to the Jedi does nothing more than let them eat food a little sooner.
As much as this gets talked about, I'm pretty sure whatever dev needs to know about this already knows.

Is it really an exploit? There are times I will challenge a BH when they kill steal a krayt. Or try and disrupt my game play by lurking about to give me viz while I am out grinding. And I leave the challenge on to see if they will bite. So far I have had no takers. Some call it an exploit. I call it put up or move on.

Apparently it is if you have to justify using it. Not saying you do it, but there's a huge difference between that andchallenging everyone you see to duels then immediately cancelling the challenge. That is an exploit.
It's not an exploit at all if used in the manner above. I /duel request people all the time, because their head follows me when I walk by. It's a challenge... I follow it up with either /chest TARGET or /throwdown TARGET to see if they will "bite" so to speak.
The problem comes into proving intent. Did the Jedi who just /duel requested you intend to see if you were a BH with their mission? Or were they merely "challenging" you, or looking for PvP? It cannot be proven since no CSR can monitor every person, all the time. The only way to once and for all "solve" this particular issue is to allow /duel requests regardless of the one player's ability to attack another. However, this was changed from that system, because there was a reverse exploit where BH's could /duel a Jedi during the hunt to stop a Jedi from healing.
But back to now. Everyone (for the most part) agrees that while this /duel /end issue is annoying to a BH on the hunt, it's a minor issue when compared to some of the other "problems" in the game right now.

You must be a blast at parties.

Not very likely, considering the fact that of all the duel requests I've ever recieved, only 4 of them were not immediately followed by "(Insert exploiter's name here) cancels his challenge."

No, but if you have timestamps in your chat box, they can see evidence the duel/end duel exploit in action.

I'm aware of that, but reasons behind it don't matter much to me since I started playing the game after the bug was fixed.

Except it's the top priority among the second most popular profession in the game.
