These boards are the most constipated, needlessly hard forums I've ever used.

No arguments there. I have no idea why they went with a Lithium board... they are generally regarded as the worst in the industry.

Im not really a noob to SWG, i've been logging in for about a year now, however i've never really given any thought to becomming a Jedi. I do know that one part has to do with the grinding of Holos but then what ? Is there other ways to unlock the FS slot ? After thinking about it I think i might like to give ths path a shot. Can anyone give me a hand here ?

Thanks.

I'd say don't bother for a few months until after publish 10. After publish 9 comes out in a few weeks (hopefully) you can't unlock until after publish 10. Personally I wouldn't waste my time. But if you want to anyway, just master as many professions as you can as fast as you can.

they attack different pools. Headshot3 attacks mind pool, conceal attacks all 3 so Headshot3 would take down a target faster than conceal shot.

I would say Sniping for the accuracy. At least the first two boxes. Then either continue up the Sniping branch or take up Counter-Sniping until you hit Counter-Sniping III. That will give you an AoE attack. It works well if you have a pet/droid tank.

Whenever you get the Combat XP. Go up the Rifle Specials. That will increase your speed and makes a huge difference.

Other than ConcealShot in Concealment I, there isn't much in that branch you can't live without. I'd do it last.

If you can only go up a total of three boxes I'd say probably Sniping for now.

if you are only gonna do 3 boxes of the prof.. i'd suggest something other than rifleman honestly.. rifleman is all about the bonuses you get at master. As it is you need at least 4004 so you will be accurate and reasonably fast. However a 7.5 spd T21 is still pretty slow w/o the master bonus. To totally cap you'd still need like +7 speed. I asked around a lot before I decided on rifles, and the answer I got was uniform, either master or pick something else.

I mastered Rifleman on my alt, and I love it for PvE. Im also TKM. TK is my primary profession as I love the RP aspect of it, and I would go all melee but intodays world of kiting and uber ranged attackers with dot weapons.. a mans gotta have some thing to hit them back with

He is right if you are expecting to use Rifle as a primary weapon. With only three boxes, you will not have the speed or accuracy to make it a viable primary. On the other hand, it is not entirely useless if you do not really have any place else to spend the points. Concealshot may be slow, but in PvE, but you can safely kill some bigger things you may not be able to with any other profession, and you can always use Concealshot to whittle them down before switching to another weapon to finish them off. If you are a BH with few points to spend elsewhere, getting Headshot3 and Mindshot2 to add to your mind damage with Eyeshot (or even adding Concealshot to RP an assassain role), could not hurt. Might not help as much as pistol speedbonuses, but could not hurt. You could also use all three boxes in Rifle Special Abilities to pickup +30 toRifleSpeed and both Dizzy (single Target Flurryshot1 and AoE Flurryshot2). The speed willstill not be great, but better than without it, and Flurry2 will area dizzy. So, it depends on what you intend to do with the rest of your points as to which boxes would be best for you.

But if you expect to depend on Rifle to save you, figure on something else, because Rifles is a difficult profession to dabble in and not really effective until Master. This will probably be especially true after the so-called balance with what we have heard they are intending to do to us.

I am a ranger and ch so i pretty mcuh only do pve. Im not too worried about being agroed because my pets take care of that for me. I just want to hit as hard as i can as fast as i can. i presume the headshot 3 is the way to go for this. I chose rifle just because of playstyle alone. I like the idea of sitting back and blasting away.

Thans to all of you for your help. Rifleman and Rangers must be cut from the same mold. both boards are very helpful and for the most part flamefree.

/cheer for rifleman board
