I have 2 workshops side by side. There is a storage vendor in each. Both are classified as public due to the vendors. I could ALWAYS call my R3 crafter inside in both houses AND ALWAYS see it's item and data storage. However... I dropped a structure crafting station and a weapon/droid crafting station in one of the workshops. Since then I can't call any droid in that house. ALWAYS have to go outside. In the other house, any droid can be called and any storage module opened in the droid. I would have to check to see if I have declared residency in the house with the crafting stations. That could be something else since it was my first house.
Don't know if this helps but it is what I have found.
Food for thought on why some can and some can't call droids or see storage in droids.
Something is keeping some people from doing this.
This, I have found, is my reason.
Oh, both houses are exactly alike, both built by me, both have the exact same stuff inside, only backpacks filled with parts or resources and a storage vendor. That is except for the crafting stations.
Anybody else seeing this or something similar?
Don't suppose you have a droid detection device in the house? (I know you said you just have backpacks and resources, just making sure) I can't really think of any other reason, as they're both public. As far as residency, I can call droids in my residence as well as my other houses.

EVIL! THESE DEVICES ARE EVIL!
Why would a MDE have a droid detection device? LOL I will never build one or own one! They are evil!
EEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVIIIIIIIILLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
Sorry for the rant, nothing personal, just hate them with a passion!
They are pretty evil... though not so evil as they were before I knew what they did...

Way back when I tested the Detection devices, they didn't do anything at all. When did this change?
Mine was only my guessing and speculation. Just thought that is what they were for. Never tried testing it.
Regardless, they are EVIL! EVIL I SAY!
Speaking of evil... I also have to agree with who ever posted somewhere on these great forums that Det Droids are droid abuse. They really are. Although I have thought it an evil joke to slip one det mod in some R3s just so some unsuspecting customer will muse, "Wonder what this does?"... BOOM! "S$#%!!! Got to buy another droid!" LOL That would be mean, funny but mean!
Not sure personally but Id say one with decent defence and enhancer to regain the lost force ud use up rapidly. Maybe :
MPowers
Enh 0002
Defender 4440
Healing with whatever is left over. Im thinking more defender than having force armour as powers attack drain enough as is.
Isaw some people with nov lightsaber using saber hit as default attack, and it was working well for extra damage. Youd probably want to have a precu saber already tho.
