Just got back from a 6 Month deployment now I seem to be unable to remember how to play. When I try to chat in Spatial it starts throwing up commands and menus, I know there was a key to stop this but for the life of me I cant remember it. Any help that any of you can give would be appreciated.

If you just reloaded galaxies, the default keymap was changed to EQ2 style. Just go to options and change the keymap to galaxies.

Are Mayors allowed to Ban citizens who run against them. A member of my guild ran for office and was banned before he could win. We reported it, but nothing was done.

citizens can not be banned. And even banned people are allowed to enter the city hall. If he was registered to run in the electin, and had votes....the only way to have gotten kicked is if he pulled his residence. Doing that would have kicked him from the election, allowed the mayor to ban him, but would not prevent him from entering the cityhall. Now getting another home in town to get res to reregister to run will be a trick tho.
I suspect there is much more to the story than the mayor and your friend is making known.

Anyone have an idea what the stats would have to be on a power hammer that tags you for 793 points of damage? (I hit him for 34)
Now this was in the combat log so as I think about it thats prolly before toughness is taken into account right?
But the 793 should be after pvp reductions or am i totally off base?

If you're MLS:
793 x 4 = 3172 damage before PvP reduction
Remove 55% toughness gives us roughly 7048 raw damage (7048 - 55% = 3172)
Now, depending on what attack they did, it could be different values. Let's take their strongest hit, which I'm going to say is a 4x multiplier like most master melee special moves.
7048 / 4 = 1762
1762 damage on the hammer
If you're Tech IV:
793 x 4 = 3172 damage before PvP reduction
Remove 40% toughness gives us roughly 5286 raw damage (5286 - 40% = 3172)
Now, depending on what attack they did, it could be different values. Let's take their strongest hit, which I'm going to say is a 4x multiplier like most master melee special moves.
5286 / 4 = 1321
1321 damage on the hammer
I'm pretty sure that my math is correct, but I'm not too familiar with the damage multipliers on swordsman moves. Hope this helps
