Very nice interview. Gave a lot of insight and to be known. I cannot wait. This is going to be very cool. I hope to get on the Beta. It would really be great. Good job so far SWG. Keep it going.

Very pretty ... but then I knew it would be, good art has never been a problem in this game.

Other than that ... well, we still know pretty much nothing. Starships from a datapad, and we can only pull them at the starport. I'm not very encouraged so far. I learned my lesson, if by some chance I haven't cancelled before the SE is released, it'll be 60-90 days after it releases before I'll consider buying it, based on the opinion of people in my City (if any of them are left, I get the feeling we'll be an Outpost by then) on the quality of the code.

Listen up, SOE: Quality is Job 1 ... pretty will not save this game.

a question i dont think any one has asked yet

what hapens when your ship blows up in the middle of space

the most logical answer would be to wake up in the nearest cloning center on the nearest planet.

so there is no incap in space so no death blow option ??? so no friendly godfight amongs friends or if you do it costs a %%$#%^ load of money to fix and maintain

Not being a veteran of MMOPRGs, I have to ask, will you be able to continue playing the game without buying the expansion?

I think this is great and I can't wait till we can get it

I'm curious how the navigation aspect will be handled. Will they have maps set 3-dimentionally that you can program waypoints and chart courses to different POI's or planets? It's gonna be very interesting to see what they come up with. As far as the skill points thing goes, I really hope it is a separate pool of points like what was mentioned before in this thread because I'm not planning on dropping my profession so I can tool around in space.

I would also like to see them incorporate a faction-specific deal as far as who owns what and so on. And I agree with someone else here that it should be automatic that you have to be overt to use fighters such as the x-wing or tie fighter, but I'm going to hold onto my judgements until this thing happens...knowing that it's coming is exciting enough

And as far as the RPG vs. action/arcade/simulation thing goes, seeing what they're doing for the space expansion is wonderful and it will be fun for all involved, regardless. If you have to debate how this is not geared towards RPG players as opposed to "leet dudes" then your missing the whole point of SWG. This game was made to incorporate different playing styles so that everyone involved has fun and is able to try different things. I never once played an RPG game till this came out, but I bought it because I love Star Wars. Since then, I've really had a great time chatting and making friends as well as soloing and killing multitudes of creatures and adventuring.

So sit back, relax, and take this for what it is...a new and exciting angle on a game that we already enjoy, because none of us would be here if we didn't have fun playing.

Yeah. Just some areas/features will be cut off from you.

So, a player crafter will be abkle to make an tie fighter but a player crafter will still not be able to make a set of ST armor, hmmm.

I sure hope that a great deal of work goes into the GCW before and included with this expansion. The though of anyone flying a tie fighter but an overt imperial is rather ridiculous. Same for rebels and x-wings.

X-wings were not only used by the Rebels at this time, yes they were purchased by Rebs regular people were allowed to own them as well. TIE fighters on the other hand were specific to faction and should only be used as overt.

Yes , you just wont have access to the space portion of the game. Expect a Large patch to cover loot items coming from space and getting them into the "real world" as you would say. Other than that. normal as usual

id like to see ships being able to take off or at least deploy on top of guild halls. those big empty roofs ought to be used for something.

And another topic.

I know the overwhelming attitude is that we need a seperate pool of skill points for 'space' related professions. A part of me thinks this is bad. I kinda find it lame for you to have a master rifleman/master doctor/master pilot. I'd think it better to have to decide whether one being mostly space or mostly ground, or a mix in between.

You don't need to be uber in both realms.
