Hey Devs, could you tell us more about starting shipwright or rebel pilot? We rebels and hopeful shipbuilders are wondering what the heck we're supposed to do once JtL goes Live. THANKS!

My GOD you're all a lot of whining bastards...go play the game already, or go play something else! These are some nice screenshots and give those of us looking forward to JTL a little more to look at.

Why is our fickle gaming populace full of the type of people who gripe every time some new bit shows up that THEY just don't happen to have interest in??? Systems problems aside, it's people like you guys who have made long time followers of the game give up because you've turned the environment from a realm of intelligent discussion to a pit of blah blah blah, whine whine whine.

Already playing something else, thanks.

I do still have two months left paid up for this god-forsaken game. Since it is far too mind numbing to play, I choose to exercise my $15.00 bucks a month on the forums reminding everyone how boring this game is.

Discussing why this game is doomed to fail, though, is no less intelligent than cheering everytime you see a pretty picture or get information from the developers.

That's great that you're playing something else - me too, but I'm still playing Galaxies from time to time, and still see the possibilities for it to become a great MMO in the long term. If you find the game mind-numbing and dull, what satisfaction do you get from trying to ruin other people's experience? Perhaps discussing "why this game is doomed to fail" isn't unintelligent, but it's most definitely not productive. If I was on the dev team, you've given ample reason to ban your account immediately IMO.

Freaking people.

Maybe if you were on the dev team we'd have a better game.

I have given up on the prospects for this game. They continue to take it in the wrong direction. I wash my hands of it. I followed these forums from the day they opened up, years before the official launch date when the boards were wiped. I had such high hopes. I tried so hard to like it even when I stopped enjoying the game. I have done everything there is to do in this game and finally came to the end of my rope. Cancelled all my accounts and won't look back.

I wanted to play this game forever, the devs ruined that.

Well, I'll give ya credit at least for being around and sticking it out almost as long as I have. So you're taking out your vengeance on the game and its developers now because you feel like you've been burned. You wanted this to be the penultimate Star Wars game you envisioned as a little kid and as you grew up.

I get that, I'm frustrated by that too. But damn, really...why waste your time poking more holes in it for those who haven't reached that saturation point? I honestly understand your stance, I haven't been playing all that much lately (and have been playing "A Tale in the Desert II" beta more often because it's more of what I hoped the SWG crafting system would be). You know, bouncing between those two games, I see how much they've done RIGHT in SWG. Innovative things like the speech bubbles that most MMOGs are using now (or some form of it), the relatively easy to use waypoint system, advanced character customization, etc. Heck on the new video cards you can turn Galaxies all the way up with all the complex shadowing, and it looks spectacular (but I still want those shadows to get some attention one of these days! They need some more smoothing, less of a polygonal look).

There's a lot good here, and I think it will continue to grow and evolve into a very cool Star Wars day-to-day experience with hints of being the "hero". I guess all I can rationally say is, "Come back in a year, see what'cha think." Development takes time, and of COURSE we're all going to disagree on the game's direction over that time. Do you know what I'vefound to be the best experience in the game these days? Finding an00b. Someone who JUST picked up the game and are trying to figure out what the hell they're supposed todo with themselves. Playing mentor andbeing their guidefor their first steps can be a real kick. Role-play a little. Be creative. Otherwise...what else can you expect from a game???
