Hi there,

I am new to SWG and I have got the Rage of the Wookies expansion, and so I ended up with JTL too.

I have been doing a few missions in space, and I was wondering if there are any manuals detailing the default keyboard layout for JTL. I have looked on the main site, under manuals and I cannot see it anywhere.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

If you go to the Options window, in the Controls section there is a Key Map button at the bottom. In the Keymap window, there is a tab for JTL -you can customize keys or see the current key configuration.

I find the mouse-keyboard play to be very difficult, I would recommend buying a good pilot-style joystick. I have a Logitech Wingman Extreme and it really is worth the money!

The mouse is very difficult to use; buy a joystick! Joysticks make JTL much easier, trust me on this one.

SInce Search is not working...I cannot find a thread that discusses this.

Can you be an Imperial on the ground faction wise and go and train and be a rebal pilot.

Or a rebal and become an imperial pilot while maintaining on the ground as a rebal.

Or a reb and imp on the ground and be neutral in space?

1) No
2) No
3) Yes, anyone can be a neutral pilot.

Also, if you are neutral on the ground you can be either an Imp or rebel pilot.

A couple quick newb questions regarding JTL: (My apologies if they've already been answered)

I would like to be a neutral pilot for a while, but eventually go Rebel Pilot. Is that silly, in that I will lose all of that xp/skill I had earned as a neutral pilot and have to 'start anew' as a rebel pilot? I'm pretty certain the answer will be yes, but I just wanted to be sure.

A sort of sub-question to that: Is there -no- way I can be a Rebel pilot and still have a YT-1300? : ( No cert, no ship I take it?

Also, so far I've noted the front of the ship seems to be where I can do most dmg to foes; is that always the case? I do recall the 'Ace' mission was near impossible for me because it seemed I had to hit his underside/rear in order to even do 5dmg to his shields. Hitting him in the front or anywhere besides the underside/rear did nothing. Will 'sweet spots' change from ship to ship/faction to faction?

Sub-question: What is the Tie Fighter 'sweet spot'?

As far as aquiring a ship goes: As I understand it, you can either purchase a deed, or blueprints. The prints are then taken to the dealer who will construct the chasis, aye? When you have the NPC construct from the blueprints though, is it -only- the chasis being built, or will he also build stock components? Or is it up to me to search around for components myself and complete the ship?

Is there any place to purchase pre-built (entirely built, components and all) ships?

Is repair only done via stations in space? I could swear there was a point when I was able to replace lost hitpoints, etc. to a component while in Manage mode at the terminal.

Also, how are All Purpose Ship Repair Kits used? Clearly not in space, right?

I'm pretty sure I had ONE other question, but it's lost for now. Any answers anyone has for me will be much appreciated. Thanks.
