I wonder how hard it would be to code one of the buildings in the Village (or all of them) to allow mind healing...
You know, so we could do the Healing Quest.

Is it just me?
Or have use Tailor's really got the bum end of the JTL deal?
I thought when JTL was launched great I can make Imperial and X-wing flightsuits (about time we got people out of comp suits,a big bug-bear of mine). So i got my factories going made 100 of each and set-up a deadicated vendor, now i'm thinking the money will roll in and confirm my reasons for being a Tailor not armoursmith. But whats this you get given one free!!!!!! For god sakes SOE do you get a Droid or flight comp when you start JTL? Do you get a top end ship? NO YOU BLOODY DON'T. So whilst our crafting DE and SW colleages make a mint we get jack all AGAIN!!!!
Ok I tell myself I can handle that, I read the there reintroducing uniform for human and tark imp players, great i think. So i make some Imperial uniforms (jacket, pants, boots and gloves) and mail the Imp guild leaders on bira. All I get in response is $%@# off!!!
Why are we getting the rough end of the crafting stick?
Clothes don't decay, so we don't get repeat business, most of the entertainers(my only real business)are now in space and get free clothes!!! Factions can still walk around a those damn comp suits, don't talk to me about the Ilthorians, making the stuff from the theme park schematics is a waste of time (everybody has them because of the jedi grind), and and selling factory crates to the money hungery AS is hard because eevry talior on bira is under cutting everyone else just to make ends meet.
BE's are charging a fortune for there crates and I make sod all profit by making BE clothing, what can i do? Hang up my apron and join the shipwright grind?
SOE you need to sort this out, and NOW
We need things to change and fast.
I don't care how you do it nerf comp suits, make clothes decay, stop giving free flight suits, or make factions have to wear uniform to get faction missions or perks.
I might be the only tailor feeling this way, but I think I won't be alone, what do the rest of you guys think?

I dont mind the free suits as much as I mind that my sales have gone in the proverbial shiatter since JTL was released. I was swamped the day the new clothes were released but then sales tapered off once everyone had their new skirt and hoody cloak. Everyone is in space and/or dont seem to be shopping for anything other than spaceship components..../endwhine /giggle

My business has been in decline as well. It would seem that unless you are a major player in the "must have market"you are getting shafted in a way. Not everyone is in space, it's just that not everyone needs clothes. Most other crafting professions are still doing fine, except maybe architects and tailors. Architects also don't have any uber jtl goodies, tho those who stock furniture may get a little boon from the ones decorating their subs heh, of course they also have harvesters and factories which I'm sure many new Shipwrights are snatching up. And well, docs, chefs, armorsmiths andweaponsmiths will ALWAYS have a market, and as long as chefs are doing well..there will be BE's to help them. DE's finally got some loving wtih JTL, but they deserved something. So like I'm in agreement with you to a point... it'sour turn, we needour lovin too!
Yea the new clothes were great, but now that most everyone has them.. they'll never need more
, I still sell some from time to time, but because of the huge resource requirments on the skirts, by far the most popular, many can't afford to buy a lot of them. The ithorian clothing is awesome, but how many ithorians are running around? Not enough to really bother stocking it. It's really disappointing to have this huge new "line" of clothing that is so totally amazing and no one around to wear it. I finally got rid of my ithorian vendor and added some of it to my regular vendors and taking custom orders on stuff I don't have stocked. I'd love to have that style of clothing available for everyone, it'd really make my day. *dreams of wearing a jazzy jacketwith mystic pants and a pageboy hat*
As for the flight suits, it doesn't really bother me much. They are only 100/100 instead of our 1000/1000 They aren't going to last long, but then again that doesn't matter now does it? *sigh*I dunno about the imperial ones..but the rebel ones are so eww..orange bleh. I set up my barker droid in a rebel starting spot spouting off how they can get a flight suit in their choice of a rainbow of colors at my shop.. don't think anyone came tho heh.
I still get a lot of repeat customers. I don't like to brag, and I'm notmeaning to if I am, butI put a lot of effort into my shop, and I'm very proud of it. A lot of people tend to agree, they love my shop and many come back for more, but you can only have so many clothes *sigh* I'm constantly trying to fill gaps in my stock, and trying to find ways to promote myself, by and far my biggest advertisement has been customers recommending my shop to their guildies and friends. Tho even still, as I watch my business slowly start to drop to the trickle it was before the new clothes.. I'm finding myself considering desperate ploys to get people to come in, and that in itself bugs me..that I should have to resort to that, or even consider it.
I do know that I love being a tailor, and as long as starwars keeps me interested, which I admit is getting harder and harder these days, I will always be one. There is no other crafting profession out there that has the diversity a tailor has, it's a shame that it's not being given the loving a lot of us feel it is due.

Space is not the only culprit. There are people trying out EQ2 and WoW. Some of them, perhaps many of them, won't like the new games and will return to SWG.
We've all been in hiding from tell hell for so long that we've forgotten how to drum up business. Run around with your tailor tag *on*. Do custom orders in cantinas or, even more popular nowadays, image design tents.
There are still fashionable people playing the ground game.

Its very inconsistant for me and I haven't quite figured out why yet. One day I will get no sales at all and no one but a few friends will talk to me. The next day I have a stack of tells before I even load and it seems like people are camping my vendors.

I don't mind the free suits. They only come with 100 condition, and will decay fast with deaths, so eventually they will need new suits. Oh wait, you can wear 0 condition clothing
hmm...thats no good. One thing that I am a little peeved about is that we didn't get any flight helmets to make. THey are adding a black sun one in as loot with 11.3, but I wish tailors had 2 or 3 of their own to sell.

During the first week my sales dropped but since then they are back up to normal...and I still sell between 25-50 cloaks on the bazaar! Is it possible that there are still folks out there without hood-up cloaks?

I find people are bored with the flight suits they get for free and would rather wear a unique colour.
Oh and I often get ... "Can you please make something to go with my new pilot jacket and helmet" hehe

I don't, and I'm a tailor.
