One great step forward... 20 steps back .. yep .. same swg dev team..

Ok guys .. i can understand fixing the rebs attacking the space station thing .. alteast npcs .. good .. now .. why the great payout/loot nerf? really. ok i can understand 1 mil credits a kill might be exessive .. but .. come on .. 20k max?? i can make more running 1 janta mission and incurr less decay on my armor/weapons and worunds and not have pvp risk.

please bump up that payout some .. not asking for 900k . .but how bout 200k .. and have it actually drop some parts? say maybe 5??

as it stands now .. no point in going deep space now .. pvp? who? no one goes there now that payout sucks .. and everyone goes to kessel to get the same loot .. so again .. why go to kessel.. to say ya killed the spacestation/sd about 100x .. whoopteee doo.

pvp? .. umm only pvp i've seen past 3 weeks is the same 4 rebs comming to deep space to kill the station for credits.. so again.. no whtat's gone.. who's going there?? .. NO ONE NOW!

devs killed pvp in space just the same as on the ground... now there is no reason to do it ... befor as stated atleast people fought over the credits off the station .. now .. nothing..

good job devs.. thanks for killing the little pvp that was left in JTL..

So now that there is no money in it to go PvP, people wont go? I thought people wanted a forced PvP zone, not a cash register. People cried when forced PvP was taken out of kessel but as soon as they got a dedicated PvP zone nobody goes except to exploit the space station. I think you need to re-evaluate why you PvP if reducing a credit drop causes you to quit. I thought you guys were for the glory of combat and the honor of fighting somone one on one in space with no combat macros. Sounds like a bunch of BS now to me.

I think it's a necessarry change - perhaps even a bit overdue - but it seems as though the Devs havenow taken away one of the key reasons people go to Deep Space without replacing that reason.

I know on Kettemore at least, Deep Space is empty enough - this change will just make that worse. People want rewards for doing difficult things - even if they're silly rewards, like badges. How about making the Star Destroyer and the Rebel Station dropa few pieces of high-quality high-end loot? It's a difficult task, I admit - trying to make the destruction of the STD and the Rebel Station worth the effort without over-rewarding those who can solo it - but I think something like a few pieces of high-level space loot would be a good start. Nothing players couldn't get elsewhere, but it'd simply be MORE likely to get those pieces from the STD or Rebel Station.

The truth is, many people won't do something in an MMORPG unless there's SOME purpose, even if that purpose is relatively trivial. But right now, there's NO incentive to go up and blow up the STD or the Rebel Station other than to claim you did it.

I hope the devs don't let Deep Space remain as barren as the ground-game battlefields were when they were turned on. It has much potential, it just needsa few small tweaks - namely another PvP damage reduction and a few small incentives to go there - to realize that potential. This is the only real content we Aces have, and I find myself logging in less and less because there's simply nothing to do in space anymore. With a couple of changes, Deep Space could be made very inviting without making it potentially unbalancing.

It's a shame. I do wish more people would go to Deep Space for the PvP. I find fighting in JTL to be quite fun, and far more satisfying that ground-based PvP ever was.

Problem i'm hearing in this thread is that the original poster makes it sound like the only reason people pvp'd was to fight over the credits and loot when blowing up the SD & Reb station. I'm sorry, that is not PVP first of all....the reward for pvp is that you live and the other person dies.....but since we get full repairs for free when leaving deep space, there is no risk to pvping at all except the I beat you feeling...after the 20th time of beating someone, it becomes nothing special....the challenge is gone, therefore all the fun is gone also.....since loot and credits have been nerfed, and JTL has no ties to the GCW or give any faction based rewards for pvping....then pvp anywhere in the game is only good for the feeling you get from beating someone.....and that gets old quick.....the truth is that the majority of people want some kind of compensation or reward for doing things.....only a small minority do anything for honor.

let's face it people, pvp will never be fun to the point where people will want to do it over and over again until we can have massive battles in space with some kind of ties to the GCW or faction rewards. PVP in space is no different than the ground pvp. though...when massive pvp battles took place, everyone enjoyed it.....since the GCW is all but non-existant....pvp on the ground is nothing more than a duel between 2 or 3 people with no purpose except to kill each other (and maybe a couple of faction points)...basically it means nothing.

Until there is a purpose to PVP (in space and ground), noone will enjoy it or want to do it......there has to be some sort of reason to pvp besides the "I beat you" feeling......Unfortunately, this being star wars and pvping having to due with the GCW, we won't find pvping that great until the GCW revamp.

The other thing is that I don't think "A SOLO PLAYER" should be able to destroy the SD or REB station.....once this is the case, then sure the devs can raise the reward for destroying them....but as long as there are a handful of players that can solo them....making a larger cash or loot reward is a bad idea.....because all that will do is create an imbalance in the game where those few people who can solo them will get lots of money (even 200k per kill is too high) and/or high level loot....then they will take that loot and sell it for millions because they know not everyone can get the stuff (or solo the SD and Reb Station)...that small group of players who can solo them will be in possesion of either great loot that noone else can get or as someone put it and automatic "ATM Machine".....

as for the credits they give, well, my suggestion is that the more people that group to take these things out, the higher the individual pay per person goes (matter of fact this should be the case with all group missions).....if you solo it (providing devs continue to allow this) you get 20k period....if you go in a group and destroy them, you progressively get more credits based on the group size.....lets say you take a5 man group...instead of getting 20keach....you each get 25k, you take a 10 man group and you each get 50k, take a 20 man group and you get 100k each.....this would encourage grouping and at the same time pvp would pick up....especially if the devs make some kind of faction based reward forthe faction who stops the other faction from blowing up their command ship/station....

This would increase pvp in deep space, while still making the destruction of the SD and Reb station worth it.....but I feel under no circumstances should one person be able to solo these....I think it should take a group effort....afterall, the only way a solo person can take down a SD or command post/station is to infiltrate it, set an explosive/self destruct sequence and blow it up from the inside....not take 1 ship, go kamakaze and blow it to bits when you have 3 guns and it has 100 guns.....that's like taking a knife to a gun fight but the knife still wins......heck 1 gun on the SD probably weighs more than your whole ship anyway....but yet you can blow them all up and the ship too.....hell no....devs need to do more than just nerf the loot and credits...they need to bring some of the star wars realness to the game.....you never saw in the movies nor EU where 1 starfighter blew up a SD or space station by brute force.

EDIT**** and before someone says luke blew up the death star....don't forget luke was part of a fighter wing in which they took most if not all of the fire from the imps while protecting the ship making the bombing run....so yes essentially one ship litterly blew it up with some well placed missiles...but a whole 3 or 4 squadrons went in to blow it up and I believe only 1 squadron came out alive.....so this was not a "SOLO" effort....luke had wingmen...

20k isnt even enough to replace the armor that you go through. I dont know what armor yall are running, but i run mark4 player made with 1700 hit points front and back, and on my galaxy it runs about 150 to 200k a piece, and after 1 or 2 fights its down to 1100, pritty much shot.

Call me nieve if you wish, but i thought the whole reason for deep space was the galatic civil war and PvP, not as a cash cow to farm credits hand over fist. Its not like you lose anything entering the place with no PvP decay, the credits were meant as a bonus, not as the main feature.

You had to know this was coming...I mean a million credits forminimal work is VERY excessive. Imps now get the same creds for destroying the Reb Station and Rebs do for destroying the ISD. I agree with you on the loot part, but come on.

You're missing the point. He's not complaining about the payout being lowered...well, not ONLY about that. Believe me I'm not happy about it, but my reason is the same as his...we both farmed a good 25 million or so off the station so losing "the atm machine" isn't a huge deal. I acknowledge that upwards of a million per kill is excessive too, why do you think I was soloing it as often as I could, time allowing? The point is exactly what he said - somehow, "just" pvp isn't enough incentive for people to go to Deep Space, when they can get the same loot but far more safely. Where's the point, the incentive? What effect does it have on the GCW? I know that the answers for these are "none, none, and none" for ground PvP as well, but Ground PvP is already an established thing and so struggles on despite those lackings.

i dunno if this is goin off topic or not but why not just have a space station that rebels and imperials can attack? say a group of rebels and a group of imperials go into space to go and get some cash off of this space station but there wud only be one group which wuould getthe cash. That way the groups would fight each other so they can attack the space station without the risk of the other group getting the loot. This way there would be pvp in space aswell. i dunno if this a stupid idea or not but please dont flame me if it is.
