anyone know how many items can be held in the yacht? Is it simmalar to a house? Is it a larger, smaller number? Is there no cap to the ammount you can store in a multi-person starship?

1 lot has always been equal to 75 items. A house that takes 2 lots has a storage of 150 items. There is a cap of 250 on houses though. I believe there is a small house with a lot count of 1 that holds 75 items. The only exception I know of is the factories holding 100 items and only taking 1 lot.

For me there really isn't a point to having this ship. Holds only 75 items (this thing has a few rooms in it), uses up 1 lot, and takes a ship slot in your datapad. All that and you can't upgrade anything on it. I'll stick to getting my yt and have fun with that. Now how much pilot xp do I need to grind?

Well, I had two houses, so now I will just deck out my ship and re-deed one of my houses.
I will keep the house for storage of items necessary for ground operations and things I need to get hold of quickly down there, whilst the yacht will take the place of my "home + crafting centre".
In space, no-one can hear you scream.....after you crit fail.

I hear ya Tre, but the "reward ship" doesn't really strike me as a reward. A party barge can only do so much when this game doesn't really push the RPG in MMORPG. I figure I can get more RP out of a yt. I craft and suddenly my ship's being hit. I run for the pilot station and start trying to save myself.
Can't do that with the yacht.

Hmm, Why could'nt you RP that out of crafting a being hit.. The yaht would'nt last two seconds if it was really being hit.. You might get a few steps then booom..
RP is just that Role Play like Pretend.. This is a great game to RP you just have to use your Imaginiation.

Fair points, if you would feel more comfortable, or more engaged, with the YT1300 then I wish you the best for your levelling and hope you get there soon and enjoy the road.

The yacht won't last two seconds because you can't upgrade parts on it. I know what roleplay is, but if I'm going to roleplay the whole thing like it's pen and paper then what's the point of paying $15/mo for it? And if I'm going to going to RP it that way, wouldn't I make so I could defend myself?
The way the yacht is now, I can't be attacked nor can I attack anything. It takes up a lot, houses 75 items (when you get more storage using a factory), and uses up ship slots in your datapad. The only positive going for it is it doesn't require maintenance.
If I want I could possibly outfit a yt to be a party barge that would allow for crafting and such and be able to roleplay actually getting in a dog fight in space. All that lends to it a great atmosphere for roleplay while the yacht doesn't. I expected the yacht to be upgradeable and it wasn't. As cool as it is to look at, for now it's not worth actually having six consecutive subscribed months to get it.
