Thread: Publish 11.2

Hi Folks,

In case you haven't seen, we have some changes coming in Publish 11.2 that could potentially affect shipwrights adversely. Before jumping the gun, I am hoping to obtain some clarifications on these changes:

  • Increased level of loot drops for space

  • Increased odds of dropping tier-appropriate loot for space
I have not had a lot of trouble thus far selling ship components. For the most part, looted ship components tend not be as good as I can craft them. However, there has been that nagging sensation that space loot could be the underdoing of our profession.

Also observe the changes to mission payouts. I would quote them here, but rather summarize. The days of "solo hunting groups" is coming to an end. Don't think that as a crafter this won't affect you. The devs have allowed "solo hunting groups" to persist long enough that it has had a profound effect on our economies. A player that can spend a buff session on Dantooine doing Janta/Mokk missions and walk away with $2-3M credits does not balk at paying 420K for a X-wing fighter. When this is suddenly taken away, you're going to see a very different customer walk into your shop. Our inventory will sit idle, and we will eventually be forced to lower prices. Crafters and doctors will come out of this the true losers. Don't want to spell doom-and-gloom, but I think people should be aware of what's coming down the pike.

Just a suggestion, but I would stop crafting anything other than shields, armor, reactors and weapons. you will not be able to compete with the weight of looted engines or the weight and recharge rate of looted capacitors. Your reactors will be heavier but better (7k mass 13000 energy) but not by much. This will last until we get some decent resources available to us. If you want to be really safe concentrate on launchers, ammo and chasis.

If I were you, I would realize my doom now and just quit being a shipwright. That will save us all from having to hear your Doomsday Prophecies.

I don't perceiveit asdoom, I was merely communicating some pertinent changes I saw in another forum with fellow SW's.

I never participated in any Solo groups. So, I play and price my wares according to how I play. That's why I never felt that I was low-balling with my 25k Z-95's and 50k Y-Wings.

With the end of the Solo groups, the economy will start to stabilize and the rampant inflation of all prices, from resources to completed products will start to lower to the point that other players like myself, being 'casual' players will be able to afford to get by, in the game.

This is a good thing.

Being away for a while I was about to complain about the difficulty in finding other players to teach.

Those apprentice points were MUCH easier to get in the first 4 months of the game!!!

But the devs must have read my mind reducing the number of Aprentice XP needed.

Now I just need to sit back until the new publish goes live and Maste Medic here I come!!!!

Fixed (as of today?):
**** Fixed Wookiee Grenade Certification (around since launch!!? I'm gonna go throw my 1st grenade that works!!!!)
* The star ship travel terminal will now display your current planet as the default screen
* Increased droid battery duration by 4x
**** Increased crafted engine max speeds !!!!! (Now we can compete w/ Looted items!)
* Moved the All Purpose Ship Repair Kit to the space crafting tool so that it is now experimental
* Removed conductivity requirement for the Max Speed stat on crafted engines
- Increased firing range for capital ships (was this really necessary )

***** Increased the mass of some privateer ship chassis, the TIE Oppressor, and the KSE Firespray (YESSSS!!!)
* Prevent case where clicking the ammo item would unload the launcher

---------------------

Hats off to the Devs for a big bunch of very good fixes. Can't wait to get home and try 'em and and build some of the previously pointless privateer ships! And get to throw a grenade w/out wondering "gee, guess I throw like a girl wookiee")

I heard about that change with the speed and I'm not so sure it's a good one either. Probably would have been better to make the enemies actually attempt to get out of your firing line and actually maneuver than just make them faster.

Sounds like it will be more annoying that fun.

Of course, I'm at work and have yet to try out the change, but I'm certain that's the position I will take after trying it out.

Yeah, totally agree. It's getting worse than before. The lead indicator doesn't show up at 600m so it'sevenharder tohitnow.
