With the release of "Rage of the Wookiees", do you think theyhave possibly, maybe, perhaps....finally includedthe real Rebel Flight Helmet??!!?

Otherwise they might as well get ready to publish Episode 4 - "Rage of the Rebel Pilots"!

(They can design awhole new planet...but they can't get a simple helmet to work?)

Are there no rebel flight helmets in the game? Ive saw a couple people wearing what I thought was them and they looked cool. Like the ones they wore in the old movies and it had the rebel symbol on it.

The only Rebel flight helm is the one you get at Ace. It is full faced unlike the ones in the movies.

We have been asking since beta. They have made every thing from th vacumformed trash can to face black sun helmet, to a whole additional planet. But we cant get a variant to something that is game already. Heck i would even concider getting the endor helmet to wear, it would go great with my green flight suit.

Honestly i think the only reason they aren't in, is because SOE has some issues going on with open face headgear, or so is my thoughts.

Look closely at most helmets in game.... most of them are full faced. Look how long it took SOE to get the imperial hat right? The rebel flight helmet, i think is another "imperial hat" scenario. I've heard once that they did create them, but the appearance was so bad they decided not to release it. But thats just rumor, i honestly odn't know.

I noticed this myself when I did havoc squadron. You never get a helmet and the one you get at the end is a full face masked helmet. I really want one like the movies with a yellow visor.

If it took us almost two years to get the Imperial hat in the game after hundreds of thousands of posts, petitions, complaints at live chats, dev events, emailed complaints, sponsored chats and persistant bugging of developers duringfour beta sessions... with the few complaints for Rebel helmets so far.. I wouldn't expect them any time soon.

Here's the simple answer. The amount of Art dept time to get an open faced helmet to work with every head/neck mesh, vs the amount of time to make a closed face helmet that rebuilds your toon from the shoulders up... It's really no surprise.

It's the reason most Twi headgear forces the lekku into a default position

It's the reasonall headgear removes any sign of your hair

It's the reason the Mercenary Bando and the Neutral pilot jacket look stupid together

It's the reason you can find any number of "cheats" in clothing armor and most gear

I'd survive a closed face Rebel helmet, if they had done a couple things:

made it so the necks dont look wrist thin

given up and made it unwearable by Mon Cal. I'm not even asking for a replacement. Just the fact that I can wear the thing and it looks THAT FRIKKIN UGLY is a crying shame. I put it on when I want to scare people, thats all.

Its more like graphic shortcuts and lag reducers. with them replacing object models they reduce the number of polygons being rendered inturn making the game run smoother for those with low level systems. on the other hand closed faced helmets are simple things to add quickly for content.

either way I WANT MY OPEN FACED REBEL HELMET!!!!

Exactly, saving dev time by making 1 helmet that works on X number of models, instead of making on that works with all the variations. Efficient, but inferior.

I also think the guy who mentioned the A-wing survival gear was ontosomething. 98% of my flight time is spent in the A-wing.

I'll see if I can track down some screenshots of the different helmet types and flight suits. Since you can buy the standard orange Flight Suit from a tailor, its no where near as special as the TIE Flight Suit. I reckon we should have 2 Flight Suits (A and B-Wing), to match the 2 Survival Suits the Imps have access to (TIE and AT-AT). We should also get a Rebel helmet at the same point the Imperials get their TIE one. The X-Wing helmet features a life support box on the chest, the same as the TIE suit - if our ship gets fragged, and we have to eject...without a helmet, our characters die.

Good job us Rebel pilots are good enough not to get blown up, isn't it?

I'd like to see them add a number of flight helmets to the game with texture and paint kits so we can customize them like the ships. They should also have mods that reduce the damage and BF you take when you eject. The ACE helms should reduce it even lower.
