I actually had a dream last night about this... I dreamed of the furthering of SWG. How weird am I? Anyway, here is a part of what I thought about:
There would be two screens in the skills window. One entitled “Profession” and the other entitled “Skills”
Skills would focus primarily on just that, your skills. This is where you would gain experience for skills, and it would use the same system as the current skills set.
Profession would focus on what you do. You could put points into being the planets governor, into mining, gaining bonuses in mining, or maybe even a translator. (In this, languages are not instantly learned) This would play a great role in what businesses you could open. You would not have to have merchant skills, they would just provide great bonuses, and you could work as one, or with one to gain these bonuses. To start businesses., you would first have to have a permit to do it by the Empire, or you could run and illegal business (Such as selling spice, and sliced weapons) No more advertising sliced weapons in houses! You could run as many businesses as you want, and they could expand to all planets, if you could manage it. There would also be stalls, and shops that you could put up, you wouldn’t keep your vendors and such in your house!
You would see evidence of these, via stock market, and the listings of businesses. You would designate areas that were your business, and could buy lots to further expand your business. Be careful though, if your business gets too big, the Empire could visit you, and decide that they want your business. If you grease the right hands though…
If you were a politician, or such, you would have to attend regular NPC (Along with other representatives) in Coruscant (Just a small room. It would basically consist of the Empire telling you what to do right now, and you could choose to do it or not to do it)
You would also have to manage the planet that you were assigned to. This is just many of the possibilities that you could have.
Another thing that would happen, is to have multiple vehicles that could have more people in it than one (Bombers, etc…) you would be able to take these, and do various activities with them, using them to mine, pull heavy things, etc…
Bases and opposing faction (Or guilds at war) could be destroyed by bombers, rocket launchers, tanks, at the like. There could be all out wars going on with vehicles and foot infantry.
There would also be more cities, and Imperials bases. The map would be expanded to hold these. No more wimpy Imperial bases either! They would have AA guns, TIEs that protected them, and the like.
Jedi… They would be very rare, and your main character would become the Jedi, you wouldn’t get a second character. You would have to choose to become a Jedi, and sacrifice your main character to it totally. Or: you could become force sensitive, and have moderate skills, and a loss of skill points, and various other things where your force sensitivity would be exposed.
I forgot most of the dream, but this was the basics of it. I woke up, and almost screamed with frustration!

of aMMORPG where Jedi fight dark Jedi WITHOUT groups, without TEF-users and without DoT-weapons.
I had a dream of a MMORPG where ONLY BH and Jedi could attack another Jedi and have a chance to win.
I had a dream of a MMORPG where Jedi could NOT be warcried and intimidated by a 5-second-template.
I had a dream of a MMORPG where the quest for crystals would make fun.
I had a dream of a MMORPG where the FRS makes sense.
Unfortunately, this dream had NOTHING to do with SWG...

I was thinking, if there ever was a SWG2 it should take place in the Old Republic.

Maybe all of that was reality and you've just been stuck in a bad dream all of this time..
