Is the level 10 ship component price supposed to be 500 credits when you try to sell to a chassis dealer? I would think it would go rigth along with the rest and be 10k. Is there any way of getting this fixed? I'll wager it wouldn't be too tough.

Nope its a bug, supposed to be listed for 10k, been yelled at the devs to fix... they as usual ignore and move onto breaking other things.....

Righto that's what I thought. I've been asking some of my friends to send in a bug report as well. But honestly... how hard could it be to fix? I hope somebody can set this in order

Keep in mind, too, that even if the chassis dealer was giving you 10k, a lot of level 10 parts wouldn't be worth selling at that price. On my vendor I sell level 10 Caps, Shields,Engines, Boosters, and Reactors at 30k each. I sell level 10 armor at 10k each, and I sell level 10 guns at 200k-400k each, depending on the stats. Boosters, Reactors, and Armor don't sell that fast, but everything elsemove prettyquick at those prices. Level 10 Engines and Guns are definately the two that are the most in demand. Even if they have crappy stats they are worth keeping since you're going to need filler when REing. Boosters, Reactors, and Armor are the only three that really aren't worth all that much. I've never once seen a level 10 Reactor that will match a crafted one, and the only reason to use a level 10 booster is if you want a slower, yet longer laster booster, or if you want the alternate graphics. As for level 10 armor, if you're patient, you can sometimes RE an armor slab that is better than crafted, but it will take a lot of loot drops before its possible. (For example, I RE'd one level 10 slab that is 2300 protection and 16k mass, but it took a couple hundred level 10 armor drops before I got ones with nice stats.)

Thats definately a sweet piece of armor, but as fast as armor decays from battle dammage would it be worth the time it took to get it?

Just hyper in and out of Deep Space and all your components get repaired without decay. Besides the slab listed above, I have two slabs of RE'd level 8 armor that are 2000 front/back and only 12k mass, and two slabs of RE'd level 7 armor that are 1500 front/back and only 6k mass. I use them all the time and haven't had decay on any of them yet.

i like this "bug" its so people sell or give level 10 loot to shipwrights because gathering 10 level 10 parts can be real tough

Personally when I saw this I did'nt think it was a bug at all. These are the most powerful components but are generally not worth using because of how heavy they are. If you could gather 10 for a Shipwright to Reverse Engineer though they would become usable an very good. I believed the 500 price was put there to encourage people to sell level 10 parts to Shipwrights.

That's what I have always figured was the case. Has this actually been confirmed as a "bug" by the devs? Or are people just assuming that it is?

I haven't read any official word on this and don't think Monsofo (the pilot corr) has been informed either way yet. If those who think it's intentional have info to the contrary, it'd be cool to hear.

Wow another completely useless post. No its NOT a BUG. The Devs did the listing for lvl 10 parts for 500 creds on purpose to get people in the game to actually reverse engineer. No one was doing it so when they added in the selling of parts to the Dealer they added that in to either make you sell for real cheap or to hold on to it until something better could be made.

and you have no proof it is a bug. if it were a bug, im sure it wouldve been fixed by now
