Ships like the Tie Fighter have no life support, it's all through the life support system connected to the helmet... If Bothans and other races cannot wear these helmets how do we survive in our ship? Anyone... Anyone??? I finally got my Ace box this morning and I can't even wear it. =(

Same reason the TIE Fighter has shields and a hyperdrive.

I modified my Imperial ships to have onboard life support systems

Yes sir! I'll get right on that sir!

I was being sarcastic towards your remarks about TIE fighters having life support systems, not saying they shouldn't fix the helmet. They should, along withabout a hundred other issues in JTL.

Someone please fix the Respec window. It appears every time I load into a new area. Tired of clicking later.

The same reason that a Bothan can be an imperial.

What reason is that?

If Bothans aren't suppose to be Imperial and can.

And Tie Fighters aren't suppose to Hyperspace, Have Shields...

Then whycan't Bothans be able to wear Imperial Ace Helmets.

OK, you're looking at a helmet question from a Star Wars physics point of view. Except your focus is too narrow.

Assuming that we're pretending that the game is real (It is an RPG, so this is a logical assumption) TIEs don't have life support, thus the question is how do species that can't wear the helmet live to fly them.

This is a good question, however to find the answer, we have to widen our focus. Based on the assumption that this is real (without this assumption, the origonal question is pointless, so....), we also have to assume that the other laws of physics, socail structure, etc as layed out in the movies (and EU) is also real.

Given this, the question is not how a Bothan survives in a TIE, but instead becomes "Why is a Bothan in a TIE?" In the movies, we only ever see human (or species that can can use the same equipment without any modifications) pilots. In fact, the only Imperials we ever see are human. The EU takes this further to explain that the Empire is extremely racist. (Yes, the EU does expand on some non-human Imps, but they are still treated like 2nd class citizens.) So, given this fact, a Bothan is not likely to be found in a TIE except under extremely unusual circumstances. Thus, the empire is not likely to waste time and materials manufacturing hundreds of non-standard outfits to specially care for those they consider little better than property.

A tad off topic here, but:

I see a lot of this around, people pretending that, for the purposes of the game, that Star Wars is real (that's a good thing, in context of the game anyway), but only picking the parts of the cannon that they like to enforce, and ignoring any parts that they don't like. I'm also wondering if the same people who are whining about there being too many jedi, and it's ruining the game because it doesn't fit the timeline also play as non-human imperials...

Bottom line to all of this, it's a game, there's just some parts that we have to ignore. For you, just be happy that you don't die of oxygen depravation in your TIE, and I'll not ask why or how I can fit a whole houses worth of furniture that's larger than I am in my one tiny backpack. Sometimes, it's better just not to ask.
