Thread: Fastest Starship in the Galaxy

Today I took my ETA-2 over the deserts of Tat.

I was using a Starship enterprises mark V that has a speed of 118.9

(ahazi)

Using droid commands reactor overload 4 and engine overload 3 for my first flight

I cruised at 1451

Boostered to 1758

On the second flight used engine overload 4 which burnt out very quickly disabling everything

giving me a cruise speed of 1581

Third flight i engaged the droid command while boosing to give me the expected speed of

1888

The ship disalbed everyhing as soon as this speed was reached.

All of these speeds were recorded with the S-Foils Stored.

I would like to think that a higher speed is possible. Engine overload 4 seems bugged, even with my elite reactor in my YT-1300 it craps out like this.

Any ideas on how I can break the 2000 barrier?

If you speak about closed s-foil, I suspect you're using an X-wing, which has a .95 modified speed.

Try using an a-wing. This ship has a modified speed of 1.0, so you gain 5 percent. I've also seen booster speed that had 40 speed increased, this might help of course.

There are screenshots in this forum showing topspeed 2000+

i was just messing about with different configs with the necrosis ship, eng ov 4 and booster,, yet to trythe same bitson the awing.. but i just got hold of one of those relic engines that i want to try to squeeze that into theA instead cos it has better turning than the 115 enginethat reached that speed ( well after re it will, and it looks better

"Then I'll see you in hell!"

This ship was basically nothing but an engine and a booster, but you can really trick out a Vaksai. psikobunny's got a viable one that breaks 2000 when boosting, I think.

How long can you keep engine overload 4 running?

Until you land, repair, turn it off, or get your droid interface shot up. It increases your engine's energy drain by 10x, though, so you'll probably have to fool around with a heavier reactor to get it to work without disabling your components.

A massive reactor! EO4 uses 10x the engines reactor drain, RO4 gives you 90% more reactor output ... basically u have to go do the maths for your ship

As soon as Ahazi comes back up i will try an arc fighter with the S-Foils closed

RO 4 and EO4

using a Mark V reactor.

=)

MUST GO FASTER.......

So then on my POB ship EO 4 is a no go because of the capacitor elite shields and everything else that takes 20k of power?

For all combat I use EO 3. Am I setting up my ships wrong?

lol is it really necessary to go that fast? If you go any fasteryou will hit the zone boundary before your booster even drains .

depends how u play and what size battles you fight in in PvP,

if u can keep a buzz going with your agility then you dont really need speed too much as u can always stay behing your opponent,

but if its a big buzz storm you generally have to have times to get out of the cloud to recharge your shield a while, this is when speed and booster is needed, so u can not be chased and caught while escaping..

I tinkered with an A-Wing the other day. With nothing in it but an engine (117.5), Booster (30.5 I believe), and a reactor I got it up to 1806 with boost and engine overload 3.

It's not very practical for fighting since you can't really fit anything else in a racing ship but the speed components, but it's fun. I'm trying to break the 2k barrier as well.

For fighting, my X-Wing with a 96+ speed engine cruises around 1100 and boosts to 1500+ with the S-foils open. That's pretty good fighting speed, considering it also has a pair of 2800 max guns and still room for a third gun or a proton launcher (this is the base model @ 100k mass).

My Nova Cruiser is a beast as well. I think the engine in that one is a 119 and that thing flat out flies.
