I would advise you to be careful with ships as storage.
I lost a vt-49 recently and all the csr could tell me after some days of trying around and two tickets was that he could only see the deed. So I got thecredits I paid for the last vt at a vendor (not even sure if it was the same one, since i made several vts after that myself) and that was it.
So it COULD be that lost items in ships or items in lost ships are harder to track in the database and cannot be refunded (like in factories for example).
I just want you to be careful and not put your most precious items into a ship that may be gone the next time you log in.

Unfortunately I am a homeless shipwright using all 10 lots for harvies. I craft out of a friends house and store all my resources on avendor. All my stuff from my old house before I went shipwright is sitting in my bank. I haven't even been on my yacht yet with my main character so I made an alt just to go check it out. Wish it take up a lot. This also limits me on all other multiplayer ships as well. But on the positve side I love my new profession so I can't complain too much. Just had to learn to adapt.

I've heard you can create one from your ground house and place it in your ship. Don't know if that's an exploit or not, nor have I tried it...

You could do that in beta, and in live at first, but not anymore. I did place a droid there now, though, as a mechanical bartender.

Not yet, but I had it setup really well in beta.
Gota screenshot of my bartender (a hawt Twi'lek) and Yavin IV in the backdrop.

Using the Sorosuub as storage makes no sense. A Merchant tent or a very small naboo house holds the same amount of Items and takes the same amount of lots. Only advantage i can see is that you dont pay maintanance for ships
But if we could still place Vendors in Ship´s i would use my Sorosuub as a Flying Merchant tent maybe

Well, has anyone had the problem where they can no longer launch their yacht? I used mine, prior to patch 11.3, to store some starship parts. The quickest way to get the thing 6000m fromth emiddle of nowhere to the platform to land is, of course, to pull the eject switch in the bottom deck. Ship self-destructs, with the systems taking damage, and ends up right there at the platform.
Apparently, landing it without repairing before patch 11.3 was a bad idea :-p. Now I have the yacht with a disabled engine, no capability to change it out on the ground, and a load of parts that I very much want to keep. Destroying it and re-using the deed isn't an option because of this, obviously. Anyone else run into this?

I'm a burgeoning shipwright but I created my sorosub before I realized I'd need all my lots for harvesters. But it's worked out because I can put my crafting station in the ship and grind shipwright....in space! woot.
