Thread: Just An Idea

Ok I have to admit I would feel bad for the IDs if there were any out there. There just isn't a demand for their services. At least not from anything I have experienced so far.

Well what if the devs created a situation where there could be need for their services. First off they need a lot more options than they seem to have. All the really cool look options should come from the IDs. But that isn't the real idea.

What I have in mind is, WHAT IF once every blue moon in certain situations character physical attributes changed due to external influance. So those of us that picked the spiffy character look we wanted might need to go back and get our hair/fur dyed because after wallowing through the bodies we managed to get it stained with blood. Or maybe after a horrifying near death experience against that dark jedi when we get the white streak through our hair. Maybe our hair grows, giving us that long hair style or beard look. Maybe we get acne (freckles). If we eat/drink too much maybe we get fat and need to go see our personal trainer. Our skin tones might change because of long exposure to the sun.

I had thought about this, but not as much as you did! It's a really good idea that gives the poor ID's something to do...

However, most people would get REALLY mad if this went through. A lot of people (when stuff like this was presented before) were very angry because they thought it would just be some dopey nitpick thing. So, you run into trouble there..

But otherwise, I think that starting hairstyles should be even more limited, especially facial hair. I think that people should not start out with facial hair, but instead it grows, and from there they can shave it. However, an Image Designer can do really cool multicolored and whatnot styles, and would be able to make it grow slower to retain the style or grow faster if they wanted a big beard.

This should also apply to regular hair as well. It should naturally grow out and get kinda funky, and somehow need to be treated. I guess anyone could brush/comb the hair to stop the funkyness, but if they wanted to retain the style they'd have to get it cut by an image designer. The same thing with the slow/fast growth would apply to this too.

Another interesting thing would be that you can't get an Image Designer to give you longer beards/hair then you have now. It's kind of funky to see some guy with a buzzcut suddenly have a mullet.

Acne and obesity... i'd never consider that! That's actually pretty interesting... What if being fat made you slower and you had to consult someone to slim you down... That would be strange, and I guess a good negative for food buffs.

Skin color change would be very neat too. Image Designers would be able to change it with "special balms", but it'd be interesting to see natural tans and stuff, especially if you live on Tatooine. Hair color change from the sun would be interesting. Oh, and what about dye wearing out? Say you got higlights or changed the color from your "natural" color, it should wear out over a period of time.

I dunno... just brainstorming...

I don't know if this is really feasible or not, but one nightI was sitting in the Cantina in Mos Eisley watching the dancers and listening to some music hen a thought occurred to me. Why can't I play Sabacc against other players for Credits? I think that either playing NPCs or other players Sabbac would definitely help with the immersion of the Star Wars Universe. Imagine a marksman, smuggler, and a brawler sitting in a music filled cantina playing Sabbac. That would help boost RP'ing too!

Just an idea... let it sit for awhile and think about it.

There's always hope for the Space Expansion. Or maybe they'll just put in a patch...

Last night there was a heated discusion regarding this card game.. then it braqnched off to all sorts of awsome ideas that would drastically boost RP'ing in the game... I doubt any of the devs paid any attention though, heh.

maybe unlocking the FS slot has nothing to do with jedi and anything force related, but instead, its something as simple as playing EVERY profession up to its master box... (seem to remember reading something about skills) this would createa unique path for everyone and would take a while to do considering the time it takes to master each tree ingame, then surrender the points and follow another profession all the way to master..this would force you to try each profession before jedi is made available....

this is just an idea, thought i'd throw this out and see what becomes of it....

-There will at some point be some "testing" going on in this Beta test , right?

Well, it's an idea, but if that were the case I'd say there would be very few force sensative characters, and zero jedi. That seems pretty extreme, and static... if one person did that, someone else could -- that would destroy the "unique" pathconcept SOE has decided to slap up. Good guess, though, I suppose.

Something I'd thought of late one night, myself.

As far as being different for every player, it would be. It's pretty much impossible for any two players to master every profession in the game in the same exact order doing the same exact things.

I feel for the person who tries this and finds out it doesn't work.

I know I will never play a master chef so I guess I will not get a FS slot

I myself despise the ability to deathblow our pets now. I don't like it because I busted my hump getting my pets and hate the thought of having them killed forever.

I have a proposal to not make them perma-die, but make the pets have massive wounds if they get killed. When they die, don't delete the pet, make him able to be called again from the Datapad, but with massive wounds like if we players clone from a non-designated facility.

Giving the pets massive wounds with a lot down time would still give the same effect of making the CH think twice about running into combat. When we die and get massive wounds we are paying the price for dying right? We have to go get healed which brings business to medics.

Now if we have pets with large Ham's getting wounds, that would be a lot more business for Medics/Doctors and give CH's downtime just like any other fighting classes getting wounds and downtime.

Now I don't think we should give mind wounds to pets because they cant watch dancers to heal mind wounds and battle fatigue. But make a large amount of wounds on the pets health and action bars when it dies.

You can make it a percentage or fraction per death. If the pet loses a third of it's health and action bars to wounds every death, you are seriously hampering it's ability. Just like if we get killed and run right back into combat, are own abilites will be hampered because we are limping along rather at full strength.

Agreed!

After days or weeks of raising a pet, which has become attached to us,making our pet die in battleis just not reasonable. Players do not get perma death, our pets shouldnt suffer from them too.

Apply a different penalty when our pets get incapacitated, but not as severe asperma death.

If the perma death persist I probably wouldnt battle with my pet anymore
