Will there be more skill points to allocate in JTLS, or will we be stuck with the current 250? I hope so, since at times, 250 seems a bit deficient. Maybe another 100 skill points are in order?

the Devs have kept a SUPER ZIP LOCK KEYPAD ELECTRONIC DOOR to this answer. they refuse to say anything yet.

We (the players) assume that there will be 2 SP bars (land & space). there will be enough to master pilot and the faction tree of your choice. and the land will prpbably stay the same. seeing as adding 50 pts allows a majority of players to master another combat class AND allows BH to go up the other tree they did not (either carbines or pistols) making them the strongest PVP class.

That would be quite nice, but I'm not sure if they'll do it.

I would personally like it, since I'll be giving up some skills in order todabble inshipwright, enough to be completely or almost completely self-sufficient - I intend on going to the ground as little as possible, and stay where there will hopefully be a GCW.

I belives that the pilot trees are 'quest' based earned skills from what was said in a previous interview. And will be limited to what ships you get certs for based on which faction you decide to quest for. Now not sure if you can leave a faction and still use those ships or if you leave faction you lose that skil treebut seem to remeber there being an imp ace, reb ace and neutral pilot skill

Haden Blackman was on The Screen Savers and said that Shipwright will take normal skill points, but the pilot classes are quest earned and leveled and will take no skill points.

I've heard that it is possible to perform the majority of those quests alone, though it is much more difficult to do so on some of them.

I'm assuming that we'll be able to get all ship certs without it being absolutely nescessary to work with others - and I don't see why not, when people are just racing through the tree to get to their prefered ship. I also think that working alone is important for people who have never played a twitch-based flight/space game and who wish to get familiar with the concept without having XvT vets breathing down their necks on how to play properly.

What I have recently been told is that the JTLS skill points will be separate from the 250 that are currently in the game. I have also heard, however, from a slightly less reliable source, that they still haven't decided, since they are having difficulty causing these extra points to be separate, and that it would be easier for the designers to just add them in with the 250. Now, the reason I go on here is because, ever since the beginning, we have screamed and complained about not enough skill points. I have been analyzing the real playing situation, and doing some math regarding the skill point situation, and have come to the conclusion that we should have 325 skill points that we can "spend", instead of only 250. Simply adding 75 more skill points would not be that difficult for the designers to achieve. Doing this would allow a player to attain 2 "single-tree from basic" elite professions, and one "full basic" elite profession. Example; Brawler 4000, Teras Kasi Master (92), Marksman 4000, Master Rifleman (92), Master Medic, Master Doctor (140), for a total of 324 skill points, leaving the trademark 1 remaining skill point which seems to always happen on SWG. This would not be too much, and would not make the character "Uber" or not need anyone else. He or she must still buy rifles and vibroknucklers from someone else. He or she must still buy resources from someone else in order to make medicines (since there is no room for artisan). He or she must still buy armor, clothes, vehicles, houses, foods, etc. from other players. The point here is, the player is more important than the mere character! The player would be less likely to become bored, because he or she could do destroy missions, or if bored with that, go to town and buff people. It's still only 2 choices of things to do as you can see. You might say "But that character can buff herself and just keep going!", I say "So what?" She saves herself 10,000 credits for a buff. You would probably find it quite marvelous to find that the person you are running around with can buff you, and you dont have to go all the way back to Theed and wait in a line for 30 minutes! You would not complain about them being too "Uber" then. One undeniable fact resides about this game, "You can only do one thing at a time", so it doesn't matter really if they removed the skill point restriction from the game entirely. The messages "You cannot craft while fighting." and the ever glorious "You cannot survey while riding a mount." are only the first ofa long list of game dynamics which prevent players from doing more than one thing at a time. I might also cite the skill mod cross over "cap", wherein the game deterrmines your abilities according to what type of weapon you have equipped. Press CTRL S when in game and scroll through the window called My Skill Mods just to see. I am surprised how many players are ignorant of this. When it says Pistol Speed, that mod only applies to you when holding a pistol, for example. No, we need 75 more skill points, to prevent boredom if nothing else.

I don't think they'll increase the 250 skill points because of all the uber profession combinations they're seeing now. Pilots have their own separate skill points. That's been fairly well documented. The latest documentation for shipwright is they'll come from the 250 skill points like any other crafting profession, but that may change in the future. We should know everything by the end of summer.

it has rebel prestiege (sp?) points. They are earned for doing missions from people have said previously. Im guessing they are just a new xp earned for completing goals set by your trainers or doing specific terminal missions (if there is any??) It doesnt however state about faction points directly
