I know that the two new races get some bonuses, but does it really matter?

testing was done on beta for this

no real advantage was seen by having one race over the other for being a shipwright

although the 2 new races look pretty cool

The new races have assembly bonuses on some things, this means that they'll fail assemblies less likely and get amazing successes more likely on those items. Considering the proportion of items that must be handcrafted I would say over time it is definitely beneficial to have those bonuses.

On a critical assembly failure you don't lose any of your resources or subcomponents anyway--so that's not a huge advantage. Have more amazing successes is nice, though.

They will only have a higher chance at amazing successes during assembly. I did a lot of testing on this in beta and an amazing success during assembly did absolutely nothing to improve the components - at least nothing that was viewable on the displayed stats.

amazing successes fill the possible experimentation bar more than a regular success there by giving more points to spend in the end on other things. but it often takes more than one of these to have this effect.

This is what I found as well--but it was a matter of only a few little rectangles. Not much of a difference in the final product. Still, if you get lucky enough to have an all-amazing build, I bet you will notice a very nice difference in aggregate.

So then the overall conclusion is race has little impact. Amazing successes willbemore frequentbut other races still have the chance to get an Amazing success just at a lower freq.

Is that what I'm reading?

i still think the devs should of even out the JTl shipwright skills to all species. i think the only reason the two new species recieved them was soe was hoping a few rich crafters my just deleted their toons with all their million of credits and provide them with a huge money sink

my two cents
