Hi all,

I was wondering: I am a rebel Ace, but I would like to acquire the JSF. Can I just drop my rebel allignment on the ground, and become IMP to get the JSF? Or would I have to drop my rebel pilot skills as well?

From what I have read, the mission is ground based, up till after you have met with vader. Then I would need to go in space, but as I would already have the JSF, I would not care so much about skipping that part...

Any advice? I would not like to go for Rebel ace again...

When you drop Rebel on the ground, you will AUTOMATICALLY lose all of your Alliance Pilot skills and XP. You will not be certified to fly any of the ships that are currently in your datapad.

Ah ok, thanks for your quick reply. I did not know this, I'll just go for the Grievous ship then ;-)

Cheers,

OR

Get a High-Mass Z-95

Load it with the Best possible loadout you can imagine

THEN

Go Imp, Get a Neutral Pilot to let you ride his turret durring the Space missions

Get the JSF

Re-apply as a Rebel Pilot

Regrind to master EASY thanks to that High-Mass Z-95 with Experimental Blasters

(High Mass varients can be used at the level that originaly certs you for that ship)

Also remember, If you achieve Master Pilot once, You get doubleXP When you regrind a new Pilot Profession

- When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Ahhh... isn't it nice when people advertise exploits on the forums as the proper way to get around the rules of the system?

Next you're going to be asking for a fix to WO3!

I agree Shona.

The Devs said that it wasn't an exploit WAY back in November of last year. It seems like one to me, though.

I gave on thinking of it as an exploit when they introduced 95k mass ships available in the novice box.

You've got a point... (I thought it was the 1/0/0/0 box.)

If it's not an exploit, it's because the Devs don't want to admit to leaving ''an exploit'' ion the game for so long. When/if the code is ''fixed,'' it will just be listed as a ''change'' instead of a ''fix.''

That thing, WO3.... don't get me started on the RotW ships.

Only for the Imperials. Freelance and Alliance get it at novice.

You are entitled to you opinion, and I have no desire to change what you believe. Personally, though, it feels exactly like the definition of an exploit.

The system was designed to give Certification for incrementally better components as skills are gained (much like the ground game).

The system refuses to let a player Manage a ship that the player is not Certified to fly.

The system removes all Pilot Certifications when resigning a pilot faction/path.

Those facts lead me to believe that the ability to keep a ship generated, with high level components, to be used as soon as the Cert for the ship is gained... is a loophole designed to get around the game mechanics of Certification. That makes it (in my opinion) an exploit.

To believe that it is a carefully planned loophole provided as a reward for dropping and returning to the same faction is rationalizing it because you want to believe it is ''OK'' to do it.

Just my thoughts.
