The droids VANISH?

I'm sorry, but this makes no sense whatsoever. Pay thousands of credits for one droid to do ONE mission? Why can't they just let us keep them?

Sorry I just got novice BH last night, was already ready for pistol 1, and almost have carbine 1. I'm still learning about the profession. I know it's supposed to be hard, but vanishing droids?

I'm sorry, but that is utterly ridiculous. Droids are not disposable lighters. They're not something that you just pick up and throw out immediately, like a CDEF or something. Droids are expensive, require many resources to produce, and must be maintained?

Why in the world would they make you buy a new droid every time you use one? Could you imagine the cluttered pile of used seeker droids that would clutter the galaxy if this were the way it is in SW? The whole galaxy would be one huge junkyard!

I've seen some ridiculous, poorly thought out, unbalanced, ill concieved, absolutely lacking of common sense things in this game, but this takes the cake.

Probably because the whole profession was built and tested in less than a week using bubblegum, paperclips, and a blow-up doll of Pamella Anderson.

They didn't use any duct-tape. Otherwise it all might have worked.....

I've studied the concepts and principles behind game design for many many many years. To me, and maybe there's something I haven't learned yet, this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

It's like they had 4 choices to make regarding a design concept, so they just rolled a four sided die. I don't want to flame the devs. I want to be constructive. I do.

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. A chimp could have made a better decision regarding this design point.

Sucks.

The one BH mission I did so far (my first, just before I logged last night) was fun. Seeing what's ahead makes me question whether it's worth it to even do more BH missions, though.

I guess I'll do faction missions to work on the weapons skills until the devs roll some dice and our number comes up.

Man, what a major letdown

DEVS: You've nerfed artisans and CHs every patch SINCE DAY ONE! There are other professions in the game, too, you know, and more design options than nerfing! Try putting some, I don't know, THOUGHT into your work.

As someone who has studied, busted my butt, scratched, clawed, and kicked my way up, all to still only have a 1 in 200,000 chance of EVER developing games, it burns my butt to see the guys living MY life's dream not even doing it right.

God help devs like this if I ever do get there. I promise I will put every last one of them out of business.

It was done because DE where the only class in the game that had to compete with vendors.

That's somewhat understandable, but still poses a design problem.

My fiance is an artisan, and she started off with certain goals. Thing is, artisans are business people. They have to go where there's a market.

This means that in order for us to properly be equiped for our class, we either need to have a DE in our back pockets, or the market has got to support a business basedon droids. Neither is happening.

What would be beneficial in this situation? A shop with many many seeker droids for sale at an AFFORDABLE price, where a BH could go pick up a backpack full, and be done shopping for a minute. The DE ends up happy, the BH ends up happy, and everyone goes about their day.

Now let's examine everything that this depends on.

The resources have got to be in the right place, an artisan has to not care about making credits because there is no market for droids currently, everyone would have to have a sudden interest in droids, a DE would have to have enough resources remaining after creating prime market droids to make alot of seekers, and the BH market for seekers would have to be visible.

Right now, artisans would rather compete making weapons/ armor, sell houses for a large income hit per sale, or even make clothes for entertainers.

Medics can make their own stimpacks. Scouts can make their own camps. We would have this exact situation if they had to depend on artisans like we do.

The solution is either to give the seeker droid schematic to artisans who have not even made master yet, make the droids permanent, or let us make them ourselves.

Of course, knowing these devs, the only thing they'll interpret all this as is they should make artisans be responsible for making stims and camps.

Sickening design. I don't want to be mean to them, but it is a sickening design. Chimps even understand supply and demand, as they hunt for food.

BH before the nerf were just underpowered. Now we are completely broken.

If you just made Novice BH I guess you never went to the old droid terminals that were scattered about (I used one on Corellia and another near the shuttleport at Keren, Naboo). Was 200/seeker and 1000/arakyd. They were not stackable which made it rough but I did buy quite a few. Of course many of them get eaten by mynocks or explode but what can u do.

But at those reasonable prices, and with NPC droid vendors with unlimited stock it was not too bad.

Now it is insane. BH operate at a loss even with cheap droids once they get Inv I (will get to that in a sec) but now it will REALLY be at a loss.

In case u have not read the other threads, do NOT TRAIN IN INVESTIGATION 1 UNTIL YOU HAVE 10,000 BHXP!!! THen you can train in 1 & 2 and be 40% of the way to 3. Once you get Inv 1 (which I untrained as did everyone else) you can run novice missions which are much faster to complete and actually make like 5,000 profit or more per mission. Once u get to Inv 1 you need droids, have to travel off planet (sometimes twice) and run around for a couple hours until u find the mark and then hope he does not kill u (will get to that in a sec too). My second Inv 1 mission I had to go to Dathomir then Endor and then the mission was bugged (no NPC target at final WP) and I lost 14k. This is all pre-nerf.

As to the Mark itself, impressive if u nailed one without Carbine 1 for Underhand Shot. I am guessing u did a lot of Bleed n' Run/Kite? As it stands now tho, all the Carbine Specials use TONS of HAM (mostly action) so UH Shot is like 100 action or so WITHOUT armor on.

Best tactic now (besides quitting BH since it is useless) is a low HAM carbine (CDEF) for knockdown effect then swap to pistol or something for bleeds/bodyshots or whatever u like.

Oh yea there are almost no LLC in the game since the metal was only n game for a couple hours over a month ago.

Guys did I miss anything about our broken class? If I did let me know.

Oh yea one last thing... a ton of BH have promised to quit SWG this wednesday if things are not restored to what they were pre-nerf. You may be the only BH left in the galaxy come Thursday. Good luck.

Wow... Thank you for the advice Broog. I'm now considering hitting the cancel button on Wednesday just to support my BH brethren, but I have alot of other things going on in game (Hi, I'm Meyree! You may remember me from such forums as Professions/ Jedi)...

This is ridiculous. They could probably keep it as is IF they only raised the investigation xp per mission, because right now it's ridiculously low.

Matter of fact, there are hundreds of ways to fix each of these problems. I'd bet real world money they'll only take whatever route involves a nerf, even though some fixes would be less work than that.

By the way, I started off with /healthshot and kite. I had my 3 rebel spec force guys out, and guarding an area in the distance. Being my first mission, I wanted to be safe, but try it with no pets.

I got the mark down maybe 1/8 before I had to retreat to behind my troops. When the fight was over, a senior spec force infiltrator with doctors buffs was down to 10% health. With the buffs, this guy was sitting at roughly 8k HAM.

Talk about ridiculously difficult, but fun nonetheless. Even using those pets, I was busy going back and forth between healing my pets and hitting the mark, making it hard anyway. Funny thing is, even with those 3 pets hitting my mark, the pets alone would never have won. I pulled out a laser carbine, and action shotted the guy down.

Exciting fight 8) I -really- hope they fix BH. This was the -first- battle I've been in that was hard enough to feel like I had actually accomplished somehting when I won.

Promised to quit? hell my account was canceleed the second day afrter the nerf with no response on it.

Underhand shot doing 100 action cost unarmored? AFTER the nerf!? what the hell kind of carbine are you using? my action costs BEFORE the nerf were about that high, and I had a damned good carbine with low hams. Now my ost is closer to 250-300 depending on whether im wearing armor or not, and what kind of armor it is. I was doing ok with the cost at 100ih, but now its a complete joke.
