to me it would be cool if what we did in space effects the GCW, i have heard many others express this opinion as well. this is what i would like to see, just tell me what you think.

the idea is acutally kind of simple (though might be hard to impliment). say the imperials currently holdtatooineand the rebs are in full retreat. now its kind of hard to even the odds with the imps getting inexpencive faction perks and what not but what would be good (and accurate IMO) is when one faction is in control of a planet they should also be in control of space as well. therefore in my example we shouldsee imp ships: freighters, transports, fighter patrols etc tooling around tatooine.

knowing that the imps also control the space around tatthe rebs can try and put a hurting on the imps from there, try to cut their supply lines. ifin jtl they could track the number of imp ships in an area the rebs could come in and start taking them out, cuting the imperial supplies of troops and equipment. this could drive up the cost of faction perks for the impsand decrease the number of imp npc on the ground, giving the rebs a chance to fight back.

now the only thing would be that you don't need to be overt to do this normally and therefore imp players would not have a chance to stop you. therefore i think that they would need to implement a system similar to the ground has now where there are certain target that can be attacked while covert and certain ones that you need to be overt (and the overt ones count more). this way the opposing faction has a chance to stop you and everyone from low level to higher level has a chance to participate.

Yeah I see what you mean. If the imps control a planet with a certain amount, say 150 GCW points, a Star Destroyer should appear in Space there. With the Rebels it'd be corvette's or something. It'd be a great way to introduce more the GCW to space and give more motive for the planets to be controlled.

Funny thing was the Movies themselves already gave ustwo incredibly fun potential game situations. The Phantom Menacehad a Space station that controlled the FederationDroid Army. The ground forces had to hold off the Armies Assault until the Space station was destroyed then it was easyvictory. Then in Return of the Jedi they had a Shield Generator base that basically made the Death Star untouchable. The Ground Forces moved in an shut down that Shield an then they were able to win the fight in Space.

Now of all the Star Warsgames out there I think this will be the first that trully has the capability to recreate a scenario like those. If they could pull it off I dont think we would here complaints for content for a while because of how damn potentially fun this could be. If its not already a priority they should make it a part of the GCW revamp in my opinion. Maybe as one of the new Battlefields.

those are the kind of things i'm talking about, though i didn't think of the ground effecting space (good referance dude). it would be great if what we did in space could actually acomplish something in the long run.

Great idea..would add an new element to the GCW. Cutting off supply lines has been a good stategy in many real wars..why not in-game.

I really like this idea! Great job thinking of it. To go even further the controling faction would have to defend thier supply lines or reestablish them to help maintain control. I don't think it would be hard to spawn a station that has to be deystroyed, one that the faction people could land on and man turrets and stuff. A lot of people have been asking for that kind of thing, could incorperate a lot of player wishes in one idea and I don't see how it would be too hard to implement. Man this could incorperate smuggling profs and infiltration squads to take out the station or stardeystroyer.

Like you said if the Imps control the planet a station and/or stardeystroyer spawns to protect and guard the supply lines. If the rebels want the planet back they have to do more than just place bases. Assault the the stardeystroyer and fleet of guards to dissrupt the supply line, get smugglers to smuggle in factional items from other planets controled by the oppisite faction, and take out the station with a combination of fleet and ground toops infiltrating. All the while the station is fighting back. Don't know about anyone else but that would really capture the feel of Star Wars to me.

Your idea could give a whole new outlook and meaning to JTL and the GCW.

Factional capital ships. If they did include these, I'd like to see them as like bases on the ground. MAke them buyable, then you drop them is space and it spawns a capital ship that flys around that system in a sort of loop, like the vette in kessel. Make a limit on how many ships can be in a system at once. Have there be both PVE and PVP versions, where PVe has fighter escort and gunboat escort, just like the vette, but the PVP has no normal escort, but can only hurt or be hurt by overt players. Keep the prices low, because it is a lot easier to destroy a vette than a base on the ground, even a FO. But limit the number in the system at once to like 10 capital ships between the sides. The side with the advantage of capital ships gets some sorf of bonus, maybe in FP gain or something, cheaper repairs at the station, giving an incentive to destroy the enemies capital ships and deploy your own. But capital ships should be NPC only, never player controlled.
