Thread: NEW COLORS NEEDED FOR PAINTING SHIPS

i had the impression that, when color palette for ships were being designed, the responsible dev has taken off his shoe, had a look at his sock, and applied the variations of the colors he saw to the palette.

the colors that can be applied to ships are small variations of all the same boheme colors, which situation is in contrast to what we saw in the movies; there were at least 3 true colors, orange, red and yellow in their bright form.

when we try to paint a ship's part in golden tone yellow, we cant find such a color. we can only apply a color which resembles an unnameable selection from a sock factory's output.

please, incorporate at least the 3 true color forms of red, yellow and blue, which we saw in films.

I fully agree. There should be TONS of colors to choose from as well as more levels of color. What I mean by that is if you ever look at a Z-95 or many Black Sun ships the only colorable part is the logos that are put on them. The rest of the ship remains the standard grey/silver color. I would rather the ship paint kits did just ONE color level per use and you choose which. That way you can color your entire ship.

Good post. *****

A much greater availability of colors and the squadron insignia is what I would like to see.

The colors for the ships are so bland as to almost not be worth the cost of the paint kit. It's one of the reasons I stopped being a freelance and went to be the emporer's boot licker ~~~

I'm not sure, but I think if you have a shipwright paint your ship then more colors become available.

Not only new colors, but we need many more textures as well. I'm currently using Texture 3 on my A-Wing, as it is the closest to the one I have on my Green Squadron A-Wing Starfighter toy vehicle. I cannot get the green I really want, as stated above, nor can I get the awesome textrue detailing with insignias that I REALLY want to match the ship. A dirty filter to make the ship look old, beat up, and used from a lot of wear and tear in battle would also be loved by all. These perfect looking aircraft just look too spotless from all the battles I've been in.

You guys are all wrong! There are plenty! My TIE has sooooo many choices...

Lol, im kidding. Sure more colors could be used.

And no I'm not saying give Imperials the ability fo use the kits. I like the gray we get (well blue for the TIE/In)

There definantly needs to be more colors and textures. I like the idea about the dirty beat up textures to. Not all of us want clean spotless ships. Remember The old Starwars toys? Remember the X-wing came with optional battle scar stickers? I want that ingame!

Ah. Well I guess the devs decided not to implement that then since I could have sworn I read that in some Shipwright profession description before JTL was released. And there are so few color choices right now that I just assumed to it be true .

We really need more texture kits. The ones we have... eh. I'd like to see some with insignias, logos, and full-body paint jobs for Rebel ships.

The paint kit I used on my B-Wing looks awsome, I love it. It's style three I believe and gives the ship a full-body paint job in two colors, then has white space in the form of the Rebel isignia. It's awsome. I wish we had kits to do that to all ships.

And there is a range of colors for ships, but it seems to change from ship-to-ship. For example, when painting my B-Wing I got a color selection of a wide range of bright colors and it had quite a few colors, and even a few variations. But when painting my SoroSuub, I only geta few dim colors to paint it with. Not as many bright colors, and not as many colors as the bright ones had.
I wish we got a color selection screen like Tailors get. That has a ton of colors and variations...

They implimented a RGB color ability when dyeing items in EQ, and anyone who pays attention to SoE can clearly see how much they barrow from game to game. I really do not see why they could not make such an open ended color palette available in this game either for pretty much everything.
